So here's my take on the Roku Smart Home app. I've tested a bunch of home automation apps and this one's pretty solid overall. The ability to control all your Roku devices in one place is super convenient. The camera features work well and I like how you can group devices to manage your whole house. The downside is the setup can be a pain, especially if you have a lot of different devices. And I've had some random connectivity problems here and there. But if you're already in the Roku ecosystem, this is probably the best way to manage your smart home.

Description

Been using the Roku Smart Home app for a couple months now. It’s basically a home automation tool that lets you control all your Roku smart home devices – security cameras, video doorbells, smart lights, plugs, and more. Pretty solid app if you’re into that kind of stuff.

Here’s what you can do: You can easily set up and customize all your smart home devices right from the app. There’s also a feature to group devices together so you can control your whole house at once. And the camera monitoring is pretty cool – you get alerts when there’s motion or sound, and you can check the live footage from anywhere.

Look, if you’ve got a bunch of Roku smart home gadgets, this app is worth checking out. It’s not perfect – the setup can be a bit confusing at first and there are some connection issues sometimes. But overall it does the job of tying all your devices together in one place. Definitely makes home automation a lot easier.

After having my camera for almost 2 years, a brand new update to the app was pushed out that now makes ALL events a paid service. No more picture notifications....
