Been using AusweisApp Bund for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you use your ID card to log in to government websites and online services. Pretty solid if you need to do that kinda stuff.
Here’s what you can do: you can link your ID card and use it to verify your identity. There’s also a way to create an online ID – it’s pretty cool, but took me a while to figure out how it works. And you can check the status of your ID card and renewal dates and all that.
Look, if you need to access government sites and services online, this is a decent option. It’s not perfect – the interface can be a bit clunky at times – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if that’s what you need.
