So here's my honest take on Bing Bong - NYC Subway Widget. I've tested a bunch of transit apps and this one's pretty solid. The location-based widget is super handy for seeing when the next trains are coming without even opening an app. And the favorites feature is great if you have a few stops you use regularly. The service alerts are a nice bonus too. The only downsides are that the arrival times can be a little off sometimes, and the ads can get kinda annoying if you don't pay. But overall it's a really useful app if you live in or visit NYC.

Description

Been using Bing Bong – NYC Subway Widget for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that puts real-time subway and bus info right on your home screen. No need to even open another app to check when the next train is coming. Pretty solid if you’re a New Yorker who relies on public transit.

Here’s what you do: there’s a widget that shows the arrival times for stations and stops near you. And it’s got a favorites section too, so you can just see the stops you use most often. Plus you can get service alerts – just tap on a line to see if there are any delays or issues. There’s also a station locator, so you can quickly open a stop in Maps.

Look, if you commute in the city, you’ll probably find this really useful. It’s not perfect – sometimes the arrival times aren’t 100% accurate – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you want subway info at a glance.
