So here's my honest take on Songsterr Guitar Tabs & Chords. I've tested a bunch of guitar tab apps and this one's pretty solid. The main thing that sets it apart is the realistic guitar sound - it's way better than the tinny midi sounds you get in a lot of other apps. The tab library is also super comprehensive, you can find pretty much any song you want. The app itself is pretty easy to use too, the playback controls are intuitive. Only real downside is the free version has ads that can get old after a while. But you can pay to remove them, which is worth it in my opinion if you're going to use the app regularly.

Pros

  • Huge library of accurate guitar, bass, and drum tabs
  • Realistic guitar engine for learning and playing along
  • Easy to use with features like slow-down, looping, and solo mode
  • Pay creators directly so it's all above-board legally
  • Tabs for individual instruments so you can focus on your part

Cons

  • Free version has annoying ads
  • Upgrades to remove ads cost money
  • Can get a bit repetitive after using it for a long time
  • Took me a little while to figure out all the features

Description

I’ve been using Songsterr Guitar Tabs & Chords for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you learn over a million guitar, bass, and drum tabs and chords with interactive playback. Basically, you can find the tabs for just about any song you’re trying to learn and then use the built-in player to slow it down, loop sections, and play along.

The tabs themselves are really high quality – there’s only one version of each tab so you know you’re getting an accurate transcription. And you don’t have to worry about the legality since the app pays the music creators. There’s tabs for individual instruments too, so you can focus on just your part.

Look, if you’re into learning instruments or just messing around with tabs, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the free version has ads that can get annoying after a while – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you want a solid guitar tab app.

This could be really great, but there are some issues. AI doesn't pick all the notes up in the tabs you add. The tabs need the lyrics on them so...

At one point I would have recommended this app, but the new UI change has made the app less user-friendly on mobile phones. It is harder to access track settings,...

Most of the features have been paywalled off now so I can't recommend this. Useful for searching for tablature, but now you have to pay $10 a month to rewind,...
