So here's my honest take on Guitar Fretboard Note Trainer. I've tried a bunch of music learning apps and this one's pretty solid. The games are actually fun and engaging, which is key for an app like this. It's got a nice mix of difficulty levels so you can progress at your own pace. The visuals are clean and it runs smoothly even on my older phone. My only real gripe is the ads can get repetitive, but you can pay to remove them. Overall, it's a great tool for improving your guitar skills.

Description

Been using Guitar Fretboard Note Trainer for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that helps you learn the notes on the guitar neck through some cool games. Pretty solid if you’re trying to improve your music theory skills.

Here’s what you do: there’s a bunch of different modes like ‘Name The Note’ where you have to identify the note on the fretboard. There’s also ‘Find A Note’ which makes you locate a given note across the neck. And ‘Memory Quiz’ – that one’s tough, tests your ability to remember all the notes. It’s got an easy mode too if you’re just starting out.

Look, if you’re learning guitar and want to get better at note recognition, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the ads can be a bit annoying if you don’t pay – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out for sure.

Great app but can I make a suggestion? Create an additional mode where I can search for the positions of a chosen note - I choose to look for E...

Nice one Justin, and way better than me recording notes onto a shuffled playlist to practise recognition. Agree with previous comment to be able limit notes to what you have...

It was ok, I like that it uses guitar sounds but Complete Ear Trainer is a better app. The problem is this app spikes the difficulty much faster than CET....
