I've tested a bunch of piano and music apps, and Synthesia is one of the better ones in my opinion. The gameplay is really engaging and makes practicing feel more like a game than a chore. I like how it lets you use your actual keyboard if you have one. And the learning curve is pretty smooth too - even a total beginner can start playing right away. The only downsides are that the free version is a bit limited, and the ads can get a bit much if you don't upgrade. But overall, it's a solid app that I'd recommend to anyone looking to learn piano or just mess around with music on their phone.

Description

Been using Synthesia for a couple months now. It’s basically a piano learning app that makes it super easy to start playing, even if you can’t read sheet music. There’s this cool feature where you can connect your digital piano and actually play the notes on the real keys. Kinda blew my mind when I first tried that.

Here’s what you do: you choose a song from the library, and Synthesia shows these falling note blocks that you gotta hit in time. There’s also a mode where it waits until you hit the right note, which is great for learning. And it even gives you hints on which fingers to use – that’s been super helpful for me.

Look, if you’re into learning piano or just messing around with music apps, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the free version is a bit limited and the ads can get annoying – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out, especially since it’s a one-time buy instead of a subscription.
