So here's my honest take on DeepSkyCamera Pro. I've tested a bunch of astrophotography apps and this one's up there with the best. The photo and video features are really impressive, letting you capture the night sky in ways I didn't think were possible on a smartphone. The live stacking is a game-changer. But I will say the setup and settings can be a bit overwhelming at first. Overall though, it's a fantastic app for any space nerds or aspiring astro-photographers out there.

Cons

  • Interface can be confusing to navigate at first, takes some learning
  • Battery drains pretty fast when using the long exposure modes
  • Occasional bugs and crashes, especially on older phones

Description

Been using DeepSkyCamera Pro for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you take amazing photos of the night sky using your smartphone. Pretty solid if you’re into astrophotography.

Here’s what you can do: you can take long exposure shots to capture the stars, do live stacking to get clearer images, and even make cool star trail videos. There’s also a viewfinder mode that lets you break the 1-second shutter speed limit. Took me a while to figure all that out but it’s super useful.

Look, if you’re into space and taking cool celestial photos, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the UI can be a bit confusing at first – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you want to step up your astrophotography game on your phone.
