So here's my take on TDUK DNS Switcher. I've tested a bunch of privacy/security apps for Android TV and this one's pretty solid. The setup can be a bit finicky, but once it's running, it works really well. And gives me peace of mind knowing my DNS is encrypted. Definitely better than just using the default DNS on my TV. Only downside is it might be overkill for casual users who don't care too much about that stuff. But if online privacy is important to you, I'd say this is worth a look.

Pros

  • Protects your privacy by using encrypted DNS
  • Lots of popular encrypted DNS servers to choose from
  • Easy to set up once you figure out the TV debugging
  • Runs smoothly without slowing down my Android TV

Cons

  • Setting it up takes some tech know-how
  • Might be overkill for people who don't care about privacy
  • Could be easier to use for less tech-savvy folks

Description

Been using TDUK DNS Switcher for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you set your Android TV to use an encrypted DNS server. Pretty solid if you’re into that kinda thing – protects your privacy and makes sure your DNS requests are secure.

Here’s what you do: you can pick from a bunch of well-known encrypted DNS servers, or even add your own. Took me a minute to figure out how to enable USB or Network Debugging on my TV, but once I got that set up, the app was pretty easy to use.

Look, if you’re into online privacy and security, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – it can be a little tricky to set up at first – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you want to keep your DNS traffic safe.
