So here's my honest take on GuitarTuna: Tune & Play Guitar. I've tested a bunch of guitar learning and tuning apps and this one's pretty solid overall. The tuner is super accurate and easy to use, which is the main thing I care about. The song library is also way more comprehensive than I was expecting. On the downside, the app can feel a little crowded with all the different features, and some of the lessons/tutorials aren't as polished as I'd like. But for a free app, it's hard to beat - does most of what I need in one place.

Pros

  • Tuner is fast and accurate, works great for guitar, ukulele, bass, etc.
  • Huge library of guitar chords and tabs for thousands of songs
  • Lots of practice tools like metronome, chord diagrams, and video lessons
  • Free to download and use, no paywalls to access main features

Cons

  • Interface feels a little cluttered with all the different features
  • Some of the learning content and tutorials could be better produced
  • Occasional ads can be annoying if you don't pay for the premium version

Description

Been using GuitarTuna: Tune & Play Guitar for a couple months now. It’s basically a free app that lets you tune your guitar, ukulele, or other stringed instruments in seconds. Plus, there’s a ton of guitar chords and tabs for thousands of songs you can learn to play.

Here’s what you do: you just fire up the tuner and it gives you real-time feedback to get your guitar in tune. There’s also a built-in metronome and a bunch of tools to help you practice and improve your guitar skills. And the song library is pretty impressive – you can search for chords and tabs for all your favorite tunes.

Look, if you’re into playing guitar, you’ll probably really like this app. It’s not perfect – the interface can be a little clunky sometimes – but overall it does the job and it’s free, so can’t really complain. Worth checking out if you want a one-stop-shop for guitar stuff.
