So here's my honest take on myORCA. I've tested a bunch of transit apps and this one's pretty solid overall. The core features work well and it's super convenient to manage your card on the go. But I do find the UI a little outdated and the learning curve is steeper than it needs to be. Compared to some other transit apps I've used, myORCA feels a bit basic. Still, it gets the job done and is worth downloading if you rely on ORCA in Seattle.

Pros

  • Tons of useful features like loading fares, checking balances, and buying passes
  • Ability to manage multiple ORCA cards in one place is really handy
  • Autoload function is great so you don't have to remember to keep your card funded
  • Free to download and use

Cons

  • Interface feels a bit outdated and cluttered
  • Can be confusing to figure out at first, not the most intuitive
  • Occasional bugs and crashes I've experienced

Description

Been using the myORCA app for a couple months now. It’s basically a transit app that lets you manage your ORCA card for buses, trains and ferries in the Seattle area. Pretty solid if you rely on public transportation a lot.

Here’s what you can do with it: You can load up fares, check your card balance, buy daily or monthly passes, and even set up autoloads so you don’t have to worry about it. There’s also the option to manage multiple ORCA cards, which is handy if you share one with your family. Took me a while to figure some of that out, but it’s a useful feature.

Look, if you commute around Seattle, this app is worth checking out. It’s not perfect – the interface can be a little clunky at times – but overall it does the job. Definitely makes managing your ORCA card a lot easier.
