So here's my honest take on RainDrop: Virtual Rain Gauge. I've tested a bunch of weather apps and this one's pretty solid overall. The level of detail on rainfall amounts is really impressive - you get real-time updates, plus historical data and forecasts. And the location tracking and heat maps are nice touches too. On the downside, the free version has some annoying ads, and the UI can be a bit clunky at times. But if you're a weather data nerd like me, it's worth putting up with those minor issues.

Description

Been using RainDrop: Virtual Rain Gauge for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that gives you super accurate rainfall data for anywhere in the US. Pretty solid if you’re into weather apps and tracking precipitation.

Here’s what you can do – there’s real-time rainfall amounts, plus you can view past daily and hourly totals. It’s got a 16-day forecast too, which is handy. And you can track multiple locations, which is great if you’ve got property or family in different areas. Took me a while to figure out the heat map feature, but that’s cool for visualizing rainfall patterns.

Look, if you’re into weather and need precise rain data, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the ads can get kinda annoying if you don’t pay – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you want a detailed virtual rain gauge for your area.
