Been using Precip – Rain Gauge for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that uses radar to automatically track rainfall amounts, so you don’t have to mess with physical rain gauges. Pretty solid app if you’re into that sort of thing.
Here’s what you can do: You can see how much it rained anywhere in the US or Canada, check daily rainfall totals on a calendar, and even calculate year-to-date rainfall. And there’s also alerts for nearby rain, and you can look at soil moisture and temperature too. Took me a while to figure out all the features, but they’re pretty useful once you get the hang of it.
Look, if you’re a weather geek or you need to track rainfall for your farm, garden, or property, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the ads can be annoying if you don’t pay – but overall it does a great job and is way more accurate than a physical rain gauge.
