So here's my take on VVVVVV. I've tried a bunch of platformers on mobile and this is one of the better ones. The retro-inspired visuals look great, and the simple but tough-as-nails gameplay really sucks you in. In my experience, the controls can be a little finicky, and the difficulty spikes can be frustrating. But the sense of accomplishment when you finally beat a tough level is unmatched. If you're a fan of challenging 2D platformers, I'd definitely recommend giving this a shot.

Pros

  • Tons of strategic depth without being overwhelming
  • Graphics look great and run smooth on older phones
  • Free to play, don't need to spend money to enjoy it
  • Community-created levels add a ton of variety
  • Satisfying sense of accomplishment when you beat a tough level

Cons

  • Controls take some getting used to
  • Difficulty can be uneven, with some spikes that feel unfair
  • Upgrades and progression can get grindy at higher levels
  • Ads can be annoying if you don't pay for the ad-free version

Description

Been playing VVVVVV for a couple months now. It’s basically a retro-style platformer where you have to navigate these tricky levels by flipping gravity. The goal is to collect these teleportation keys scattered around and make it to the exit. Sounds simple but it’s actually pretty challenging.

There’s a ton of levels to play through, and you can even create your own. And there’s a multiplayer mode where you can team up with friends and try to beat other players’ levels. That’s where the game really shines – the community-created levels are super creative and fun to play.

Look, if you’re into challenging platformers, you’ll probably love this. It’s not perfect – the difficulty can be a bit uneven at times and the controls take some getting used to. But overall it’s a solid game that’s kept me coming back. Worth checking out for sure.
