So here's my take on METAL SLUG 4 ACA NEOGEO. I've tested a bunch of retro arcade ports and this one's up there with the best. And the controls feel tight, the graphics have that classic METAL SLUG look, and the difficulty level is just right - it's challenging but not frustratingly hard. I will say the progression does start to drag a bit at higher levels, and the ads can get intrusive if you don't pony up for the premium version. But if you're a fan of the series or just want an addictive action game, I'd definitely recommend giving this a try.

Description

Been playing METAL SLUG 4 ACA NEOGEO for a couple months now. It’s basically a classic 2D side-scrolling shooter game, but they’ve updated it to work on smartphones. You run and gun through levels, blasting enemies and bosses, just like the old METAL SLUG arcade games.

There’s a bunch of cool features – you can customize the virtual controls, there’s online leaderboards so you can compete against other players, and they’ve even added quick save/load so you can play in short bursts. It’s got that same retro arcade vibe but with some modern conveniences.

Look, if you’re into action games or just want a fun, challenging shooter to play, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the levels can get a little repetitive after a while and the ads can be annoying if you don’t pay. But overall it’s a solid port of a classic game, and it’s free to play so it’s worth checking out.
