So here's my take on holedown. I've tested a bunch of puzzle games and this one's definitely one of the better ones. The core gameplay loop of shooting balls to clear blocks is super addicting and there's a good amount of strategy involved. I like how the game lets you customize your loadout with upgrades - it adds a nice layer of progression without getting too complex. Visually it's really polished too, with smooth animations and a chill vibe. My only real complaints are that the grind for upgrades can get a bit repetitive, and the ads can be intrusive if you don't pay. But overall, if you're into puzzle games, holedown is a pretty solid pick.

Description

I’ve been playing holedown for a couple months now. It’s basically a puzzle game where you shoot balls at blocks to clear your way deeper underground. The goal is to dig down to the planet’s core before you run out of shots. There’s a ton of strategy involved – you gotta think about how the balls will bounce and try to hit as many blocks as possible with each shot.

The game’s got a bunch of cool features too. You can upgrade your stuff like getting more starting balls or storing more crystals you collect. And the planets you dig through are all procedurally generated, so it’s got good replay value. The bouncing physics are super satisfying and the whole game just has a really nice, relaxing vibe to it.

Look, if you’re into puzzle games or just want a fun, casual game to play, I’d say holedown is worth checking out. It’s not perfect – the upgrades can take forever to unlock and the ads can get annoying – but overall it’s a pretty solid time-killer that I’ve enjoyed.
