So here's my honest take on My City by Reiner Knizia. I've tested a bunch of strategy apps and this one's pretty good. It's got tons of strategic depth without being overwhelming, and the graphics look great. And plus, you can play for free without having to spend money. On the downside, the upgrades do take forever at higher levels and it can get a little repetitive after a while. But if you're into this kind of game, I'd say it's worth giving it a shot.

Description

Been playing My City by Reiner Knizia for a couple months now. It’s basically a tile-laying strategy game where you build up your city from a small town to an industrial metropolis. There’s a ton of depth to it – you have to place your buildings and landmarks just right to score the most points. Gets tricky when you run out of space and have to make some tough decisions.

Here’s what you do: you take turns placing colorful polyomino buildings on the game board. There’s also a campaign mode with 24 episodes that starts off simple but gets more complex over time. And you can play against friends or AI opponents online, which is pretty cool. Took me a while to figure out all the strategies but it’s worth it.

Look, if you’re into abstract strategy games, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the upgrades can take forever at higher levels and it gets a bit repetitive after a while. But overall it does a solid job and is worth checking out, especially since it’s free to play.
