So here's my honest take on Backyard Football '99. I've tested a bunch of sports games and this one's a pretty solid option. The gameplay is easy to pick up but has enough strategic depth to keep it interesting. I like how you can customize your team and the different backyard fields add some variety. The retro Backyard Sports vibe is a nice touch too. My main gripes are that it can get repetitive after a while and the progression system is a bit grindy at higher levels. But if you're just looking for a fun, casual football game, this is a good choice.

Description

Been playing Backyard Football ’99 for a couple months now. It’s basically a classic football game where you can draft your own team of iconic Backyard Sports characters and legendary NFL pros. Pretty solid app if you’re into casual sports games.

Here’s what you do: you can pick your team, design your own logo, and play pick-up games on different backyard fields. And there’s also a season mode where you can draft players and compete. It’s got some fun banter from the announcers too – took me a while to get used to their jokes but they’re pretty funny.

Look, if you’re a fan of the Backyard Sports series or just like casual football games, you’ll probably enjoy this. It’s not perfect – the upgrades can take forever at higher levels and the ads can get annoying if you don’t pay. But overall it does the job and is worth checking out.

Great game, but the gamepad function is literally useless. I hope the devs read this, because I would love to use my Xbox controller to play in the future.

It's the same game that was released back in 98 or 99 except that they changed the 31 NFL teams (Texans weren't a team yet) and Brett Farve got his...
