So here's my honest take on Complete Music Reading Trainer. I've tested a bunch of music education apps and this one's definitely one of the better ones. The gamified structure and progressive drills make it a lot more engaging than just drilling flashcards. That said, it can get a little repetitive after a while, and the higher levels require a serious time investment. But for the price (free), it's a pretty solid option if you want to improve your music reading skills.

Pros

  • Tons of content across different clefs and skill levels
  • Gamified structure makes practice feel less like work
  • Free to play, don't have to spend money to get the full experience
  • Smooth performance and nice clean visuals

Cons

  • Ads can be annoying if you don't pay for the premium version
  • Upgrading and progressing takes a long time at higher levels
  • Can get repetitive after doing the same drills for a while

Description

Been using Complete Music Reading Trainer for a couple months now. It’s basically a music reading and sight-reading app, with a ton of different clefs and levels to work through. Pretty solid app if you’re into improving your sheet music skills.

Here’s what you do: there are like 270 different drills and exercises covering all the clefs – treble, bass, alto, tenor, and more. You can pick which ones are relevant to your instrument and just focus on those. And it’s got a leveled progression system too, so you start easy and gradually get more challenging. And the whole thing is laid out really nicely, like a video game, which makes the learning process kind of fun.

Look, if you’re trying to get better at reading sheet music, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the ads can get a little annoying if you don’t pay – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out for sure.
