So here's my honest take on Popscene. I've tested a bunch of music/management sims and this one's pretty solid overall. The core gameplay loop of signing artists, recording hits, and touring venues is really addictive. And I like that you can create your own custom stars too. But it's not without its issues - the upgrade system gets a bit repetitive after a while, and the ads can be annoying if you don't pay for the backstage pass. Still, for a free game it's definitely worth a download if you're into the genre.

Description

Been playing Popscene for a couple months now. It’s basically a music industry simulation game where you build up your own record label. The goal is to recruit artists, produce hit songs, and take your acts on tour. There’s a bunch of different labels and over 150 artists to choose from, so you can really build your own music empire.

Here’s what you do: You start by signing artists to your label, then work with them to record new songs. And there’s also a cool feature where you can design your own music stars from scratch using the character editor. And once you’ve got some hits, you can take your acts on tour to different venues – the game has like 20 different locations you can play.

Look, if you’re into music or management sims, you’ll probably like this. It’s not perfect – the upgrade system can get a bit grindy after a while – but overall it’s a pretty solid time waster. Worth checking out, especially since it’s free to play.
