I’ve been playing Slayaway Camp: Horror Puzzle for a couple months now. It’s basically a darkly comedic puzzle game where you control a psycho slasher named Skullface who’s on a mission to scare and slaughter camp counselors. Totally pays tribute to old school 80s horror movies.
The gameplay is pretty simple – you move Skullface around these isometric puzzle levels, trying to get him to the exit while avoiding cops, traps, and other obstacles. But the real fun is in the gory kill animations, which are just over-the-top and ridiculous. There’s a ton of different weapons and ways to dispatch your victims, like wood chippers, lawn mowers, and even Sumerian demon incantations. Yikes!
Look, if you’re a fan of horror movies and twisted humor, you’ll probably dig this game. It’s not perfect – the difficulty ramps up pretty quickly and the in-app purchases can get annoying. But overall it’s a solid, gory good time. Worth checking out if you want a break from the typical puzzle games.
