I've tested a bunch of these found-phone horror games and SIMULACRA 2 is one of the better ones. The story and characters suck you in, and the way you piece together the mystery by going through the victim's digital life is really well done. The gameplay loop of investigating clues and making choices is addictive. But I will say it gets a little repetitive after a while, and the ending didn't blow me away. Still, it's a pretty solid game overall and I enjoyed my time with it.

Description

I’ve been playing SIMULACRA 2 for a couple months now. It’s basically a found-phone horror game where you gotta solve the death of an influencer. Basically, the police give you her phone to dig through and piece together what happened. There’s texts, emails, social media – you get to snoop through it all to try and figure out if it was murder or just some kinda accident.

The gameplay is pretty cool – you can call the victim’s friends, look for clues in her digital life, and try to figure out what’s going on. There’s also a few twists and turns along the way. It’s got a creepy vibe that sucks you in, but there’s enough mystery and intrigue to keep you hooked.

Look, if you’re into these kinda narrative-driven games, you’ll probably like SIMULACRA 2. It’s not perfect – the ending felt a bit rushed to me – but overall it’s a solid experience. Worth checking out if you want something a little different from the usual mobile games.
