Rating Methodology

Grand-screen employs a unique dual-rating approach that combines expert evaluation with user feedback, providing a comprehensive assessment of each app’s quality and value.

Understanding Our Ratings

Each app on Grand-screen receives two distinct scores:

Expert Score (0-10)

Our expert score is calculated using a weighted algorithm based on five key criteria, evaluated by our professional reviewers through extensive hands-on testing.

User Score (0-10)

The user score aggregates ratings from our community members who have downloaded and used the app, providing real-world perspective on app performance and satisfaction.

User Score Calculation

The user score is calculated from verified user ratings using a weighted algorithm that:

  • Gives more weight to recent ratings to reflect current app quality
  • Factors in rating volume (apps with more ratings have more stable scores)
  • Applies statistical techniques to identify and minimize impact of fake or suspicious ratings
  • Requires a minimum of 10 ratings before displaying a user score

Score Updates

We maintain the accuracy of our ratings through:

  • Major Updates: Apps are re-reviewed when significant updates are released
  • Periodic Re-evaluation: Popular apps are re-tested annually
  • User Feedback: We investigate when user scores diverge significantly from expert scores
  • Issue Reports: Scores may be updated if critical bugs or security issues are discovered

Maintaining Objectivity

To ensure fair and unbiased ratings:

  • Reviewers never rate apps they have a personal or financial connection to
  • All reviews are subject to editorial oversight and fact-checking
  • We maintain complete independence from app developers and advertisers
  • Our rating criteria and methodology are publicly documented
  • We regularly audit reviews for consistency and accuracy

Transparency

We believe in complete transparency about our rating process. If you have questions about how a specific app was rated, or if you believe a rating is inaccurate, please contact us at [email protected].
