So here's my honest take on PeakFinder. I've tested a bunch of outdoor/hiking apps and this one's one of the better ones I've come across. The core features work really well - the peak identification is impressively accurate and the offline functionality is super handy. The UI could use some polishing, but it gets the job done. Compared to similar apps, I'd say PeakFinder strikes a nice balance of being packed with useful features without being overwhelming.

Description

Been using PeakFinder for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that shows you the names of mountains and peaks all around the world. Pretty cool if you’re into hiking, climbing, or just exploring new places. And

Here’s what you can do: you can point your phone’s camera at a mountain and it’ll overlay the names and heights of all the peaks you’re looking at. There’s also a 360-degree panorama feature which is pretty neat. And it all works completely offline – no cell service required.

Look, if you’re an outdoor enthusiast who likes to know what you’re looking at, you’ll probably get a lot of use out of PeakFinder. It’s not perfect – the UI can be a little clunky at times – but overall it does the job and is worth checking out.
