Been using Google Chat for a couple months now. It’s basically a messaging and collaboration app for teams using Google Workspace. Kinda like Slack, but with some cool AI features.
The main thing you do is start chats with co-workers, share updates, and work on projects together. There’s also some neat stuff like automated summaries of important conversations and the ability to translate messages to over 120 languages. Oh, and you can do real-time video ‘huddles’ which is pretty handy.
Look, if you’re in a Google Workspace environment, you’ll probably find Google Chat useful. It’s not perfect – the interface can be a little clunky at times and the search isn’t as powerful as I’d like. But overall it gets the job done and makes team communication a lot smoother.
