So here's my take on W1ANT Pro Satellite Tracker. I've tested a bunch of satellite tracking apps and this one's probably the best I've found. The features are really robust, like being able to group the satellites and get super detailed info. And it's all presented in a way that's easy to use, even if you're not a hardcore radio guy. The only downside is it can feel a bit cluttered at times, but that's a minor gripe. Overall, if you're into amateur radio, this is a must-have app in my opinion.

Pros

  • Tons of useful features for tracking and operating satellites
  • Gets super detailed info like actual uplink/downlink frequencies
  • Grouping satellites makes it easy to focus on what you care about
  • Runs smooth and responsive, even on older phones

Cons

  • Interface could be a bit more polished and streamlined
  • Can feel overwhelming if you're not familiar with this stuff
  • Pro version is paid, so you'll have to pay to remove ads

Description

I’ve been using W1ANT Pro Satellite Tracker for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you see what amateur radio satellites are visible from your location and when. Pretty solid if you’re into that kind of thing.

Here’s what you do: you can get a list of all the satellites that’ll be above the horizon in the next 24 hours. There’s also a nifty feature where you can group the satellites, so you only see the ones you care about. And the app can even give you the actual frequencies to use for uplink and downlink, taking the Doppler effect into account – that’s super useful.

Look, if you’re a radio nerd like me, you’ll probably love this app. It’s not perfect – the interface could be a bit more polished – but overall it does the job really well. Worth checking out for sure.
