They changed it. Now it takes forever to sign in. Easier to ditch the app and sign in with your finger at the club. In response to your comment, your new policy of sign in credentials are exactly the problem. It's like you think going through the hassle of manually entering in information each time is somehow preferable to sticking your finger on the pad. Signing into a club should be quick and easy, not laborious to the point of having to enter in your credentials repeatedly every time you want to work out.Did someone actually think that was a good idea? I stand by my statement -- ditch the app. It's more painful than the workouts.

← Back to 24GO by 24 Hour FitnessThis app is useful for lots of things like finding a gym near you, gym information such as hours and amenities at the facility, guided, live, and customizable workouts, healthy living information, gym check-in. However, there is a bug when there is a notification about an article or something and I click on the notification, the app always opens to the main screen and doesn't open to the article that I wanted to read and it's nearly impossible to find.
Hides relevant classes and no longer puts anything on your personal calendar (Google calendar). I almost missed a weekend of Zumba classes because anything with a special branded name like "Pretty in Pink" doesn't show up at Zumba. Even though I went to the criteria and selected everything with Zumba in it I still didn't find anything for the weekend. Also, the 24-hour fitness app used to put things on your own Google calendar which was truly useful. Now it has its own calendar which is useless. And it takes longer to get to the screen with the classes on it. I don't want all the gunk just to quickly see if filter list of locations close to me that have classes of interest to me. So that I can select them and put them on my calendar quickly and know when in the week I will be exercising.
This app is good when it works. When it doesn't it's horrible. Too many glitches. It does not let me reserve any classes. I keep getting a pop up asking me to upgrade to gold or platinum when I am already a platinum member and always have been. When I try to log a class, I get pop up "membership invalid." I can not keep track of my workouts or progress due to this problem. I've experienced this issue before and after addressing with club, it works for a little while until it begins again. Fix!!
This app has a lot of potential... I really like the follow along workout routines. Some suggestions: Workouts need time settings like beeping when your set is up. Needs to prevent the phone from sleeping. The scheduling is cumbersome and buggy. It would be nice to add a specific workout over a range of dates and times rather than having to enter each day. The workouts should move to the next routine or rest when the phone is rotated so you don't have to stop.
In general, it's a good idea, but it has a huge failure in a core feature. It plays video every time you select an exercise in a workout, and you can't use any of the buttons associated to that exercise until the video plays. So during one workout, the app uses almost 200 MB of data. That is horrendous. And there is no obvious option to turn off videos or play only over wifi. Oh, and at a "Super Sport" gym, they don't even have WiFi, so you're kind of screwed.
I decided to install it after seeing my local gym post a sign saying that they were going to discontinue manual sign in. I was quite disappointed to find that the signin part is just a small addition to a full athletic tracking and planning app. I already have several others and don't want an extra one in the background eating up battery, popping up notifications, etc, etc... They really should have a no frills sign in app or something that works with Google wallet.
Workouts are great! Would love this app better if it would talk to me. There is no sound. If it's 3 sets for 30 secs each with 30 sec of rest. There is no indication when to change. There is only the workout timer. No way to track the sets and no built in interval timer. I have to be looking at my phone to do the workout or have a separate interval timer.
App has this feature to log your workouts. I've tried multiple times to put information in here but it never seems to save. All the features that are here that you should be able to track look nice. Time in and time out, level of intensity, a notepad to enter what exercises you did. But none of it saves so it just ends up being a frustrating waste of time. At least I can use the app to get in and out of the gym...
Requires data collection. Request answering questions BEFORE you can even use the app. Gender, weight, GOALS (?), how often yo workout, & intrusive questions. That's AFTER you Sign Up, but BEFORE you can even Look at Fitness locations, or anything else. The PREVIOUS app did NOT do this. And SHOULD NOT BE A CONDITION OF USE. We pay for membership, or are interested in MAYBE doing so. It's not required for membership. AND THE OPTIONS ARE NOT SUFFICIENT - MY ANSWER isn't an option, so it's FALSE.
I don't know if it works. I downloaded the app and tried to make an app account for my years-long membership. It said my email is already taken (by me! I just received an email from 24 Hr Fitness with my membership number). I can't open the app without another email. I bet they're going to tell me to call some number to fix it, but I don't know how anyone with an existing account did this.
Lots of Great Workouts, great calendar for scheduling & keeping track of classes & workouts, lots of nice articles. Would be great if I could put in my classes I attend weekly, and have them be automatically logged if I am in the gym during that time (or get a notification asking if I was there), Instead of having to remember to manually log every single class. Also, would love to have a workout 'wish list', or 'favorites'.
This new app is horrible! It's impossible to figure out what times the classes are. It used to be such a user-friendly app, but it is not anymore. Please stop trying to be so technologically advanced and just give us the class dates, times, and instructors without confusion. It makes me consider canceling my membership with 24 Hour Fitness, because I do not have time to call the gym for this basic info. Look at Fitness Connection app and take notes!
Since the update, you now have to manually enter membership information everytime you open the app. The point of the app should be making checking into a club fast, easy, and convenient, and this update now makes it the opposite. At least save the membership info and give us the option for a biometric login. Otherwise, there's no reason to use the app anymore.
Update ruined the app. I used to use this for touch free check in and it worked great because it remembered my credentials so I just had to open the app and scan at the counter. After the update I have to log in to the app every other day which involves typing in a full username and password sequence. Every my bank app lets me use a finger print to log in, way faster. Now the app is worthless, it's faster to just use the keypad at the counter.
This is the worst App on the planet. Here goes, anytime you are picking an option i.e., I clicked "see rates", it takes to a random page asking my location! I picked a damn location which is why I picked a trainer and want to see rates! So anything you select, 80% of the time you end up at the same page. I ended up going for this search because they sent an email suggesting there was Black Friday deals which they do not, in fact the dont have personal training since no rates so go elsewhere.
I can't seem to find a place to submit a ticket in-app, so I'm saying it here: There's a lot of issues in getting check-ins to show up. I check in at my club, the scanner beeps, I show up as checked-in locally, but the app doesn't recognize it. I'm USUALLY able to do it at the end of my workout, but since the times don't line up, my workouts do not connect with my check-ins. This has also resulted in an uneven amount of check-ins to workouts. Otherwise app seems fine, I guess.
This app does not allow you to save more than one workout or add more than one type of workout to a single entry. It would also be nice to see some generally accepted strength routines in the app like 5x5 or 5-3-1. I really like the ability to have multiple club schedules bookmarked for class information. Good start, needs more workout customization options. I can't log rowing and a strength workout that I did the same day separately or together in one entry. Add stretching option please.
this app unfortunately is not easy to use during a workout. the 24 hour fitness wifi is usually too slow to operate this app without interruptions. the app itself is glitchy and requires quite a bit of bandwidth to run all the videos, tough to use other apps at the same time. it's difficult to set up a workout plan/regimen and to find a body building workout for cutting, maintaining or bulking. the yoga, flexibility and cardio is probably beneficial for some, but not so much for me. it's free!
I liked this app at first. It helped me plan my workouts on the fly when I didn't want to put a lot of thought into planning, but now it feels like the app is a marketing tool to get you to buy a personal trainer. The workouts in the plans are increasingly generic, repetitive and short. It isn't transparent in its workout tracking. I log my workout in Plan but it doesn't transfer to Workouts Completed in Dashboard at all, even though I marked it as "Done".
