This app is a headache! At the end of May, it got even worse. It has never consistently tracked my trips, but then it started saying it was logging a trip, but it never appeared in my history. Next, it stopped locating me even though everything was set up correctly. Finally, I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, and it worked great for a few days. Another update was done, and now, suddenly, I have had to repeat this process of reinstalling. The discount offered is not worth this hassle!

I did this and after setting up my payment and giving them my bank account information to do so, they took twice the amount of money out of my account without my permission. I have to wait 48 hours for it to post in order to file a complaint, during which of course that money is gone from my account. DO NOT make any payments through this app.
This app does not catch all of my trips (even though it says it's logging a trip) and when it does, it does not capture the entire trip. I've stayed clear of this app for a long time in hopes that it would be fixed and after many updates and a few phone changes, the problems are still there. So disappointed. *10/22 Still the same issues after app diagnostic (always says "ok") and trips that are logged (partial or otherwise) don't load until hours later
Very intrusive app that is almost constantly running in the background on your phone. Multiple times a day it will just randomly pop up that it's checking if I'm taking a trip. It just happened while I was laying in bed, which would give it no prompts that I am in a car. You are definitely giving up some of your privacy to save some money on your insurance.
While my experience of just about 9 months have been more or less positive there are some issues that are less than ideal. As with other users I have been clocked for speeding when I wasn't. There really needs to be a way to correct database errors so your customers aren't punished for actions they did not commit. Also being dinged for driving late at night when it is mostly not by choice seems really unfair.
This app has stopped logging trips correctly. It'll leave so many trips off completely, and then it leaves others in a processing status for days at a time. You can't have your passenger change the music or it'll punish you. You can't set your GPS whilst in park at the end of YOUR OWN DRIVEWAY because it thinks the driveway, the gas station parking lot, and the private property where I ride my ATV is the road. Also you can't turn off the notification for "Allstate is checking for a trip".
This app records only about 10% of my drives so far for one week. Of the two trips it did record, logged only about 1 min. for 10 min. trips. Yes, it is set up properly, drivewise says it is ready. I have tried keeping the app running in the background, still not working properly. Stop giving me your corporate answer. My app, OS are all up to date. I said above I tried keeping the app running in the background even though the FAQ states that is not needed. Your app does not work.
Update 2: Switch to Geico! This app doesn't record trips, it's a scam to get your money! You opt in, and then the app doesn't record, so at the 6 month period, you get charged for not using it. Drivewise makes your driving less safe. I'm now constantly focused on whether or not I'm accidentally speeding when going down a hill and terrified to brake in situations that are beyond my control (a dog or child wandering into the street) it does encourage you to run yellow lights though so that's good.
Since the last update the trips are all messed up. It will say processing and then disappear. Also, it doesn't always track a trip. I have to constantly delete the app and then download it again in order for it to work. Yes, I have the most updated app. Yes, my battery is at least 25%. Yes, it is updated and running in the background. Please do not respond with the same auto response. Everything worked fine prior to the last update. The new update said tracking improved and it absolutely isn't.
Worthless. It's hit and miss on logging trips, mostly miss. I took two trips yesterday, the app said they were processing, now there's nothing in trip history even though it says 50+ trips taken, not even previous trips. And the app running in the background makes my phone hot and drains my battery prematurely. I'm not sure what the discount is for using the app but it's not worth the hassle.
saves a bit of money on your policy. app is easy to use, but you should disable it when not driving to avoid the constant alerts as it claims to be tracking a trip. recently the app changed how it is monitoring when driving and is doing a lot of false "phone activity detected" notes on trips when the phone is in my pocket. may be something with the Bluetooth connection to my car and voice commands? if that activity continues, I will stop using the app.
I enjoy that you can save money on car insurance just by using the app. With the new update it tracks when you use your phone and I get dinged all the time when I use my phone right after I park though. update; I'm constantly being dinged for phone use. most of the time when I use my phone right before or after driving. sometimes I need to use GPS, or speaker phone call completely hands off and get dinged for that as well.
Functionality is very poor. I am an older driver with a very safe record, but this app is almost not worth the discount. It works for a moment, then doesn't. It wants you to activate it constantly, but that is almost impossible to do. I have to know how to reset half my device settings. Then it uses up my battery constantly. Horrible, difficult, user-unfriendly!
The app is too battery intensive when you are running it for drivewise. it doesn't detect half the trips driven. from the ones that get detected the processing is slow and often takes over a week to fully register even though it has full access to the phone's resources. it is good for displaying the status of account and pulling up your insurance card.
While the app is working well on my phone, a Pixel 7, I do not like the notifications that have nothing to do with letting me know Drive Wise is active. In general, I do not let any app send me notifications as it is a loss of ownership. However, DriveWise will not work unless I allow notifications. This is a huge ask. Please amend the app so that I can filter out the extraneous notifications. I have plenty of weather alert notices already.
Price is okay for car insurance but, be warned, roadside assistance is covered separately, it's a separate subscription with a separate membership number and billing. Something they don't warn you about. Getting to the roadside assistance from the app is a hassle. I discovered this the hard way when my battery died yesterday. Ended up having to shell out $95 for a jumpstart. Also, it doesn't save quotes in progress. If you switch apps or receive a phone call, you have to start from scratch.
This app sucks. The stupid Drivewise or whatever it is called doesn't work. It doesn't let you enter the data to set it up. Therefore, it won't record my driving, which means I cannot access their supposed savings for driving safely. Further, I just tried to enter my ZIP code to sign up for severe weather alerts, and big surprise! The ridiculous app wouldn't let me do so. Stay clear of this stupidity. It isn't worth the hassle.
almost there... it's frustrating when my car is parked, but still running, if I touch my phone at any time it dings me with phone activity. Most of the time I am starting my music app or someone else in my car is. Other than that the app works great for me. I have been rewarded with a lower rate twice, So far it has dropped a total of 32.00 a month.
App drains my battery even when Im not driving. It causes my phone to get super hot because it's running constantly in the background. It doesn't track all the trips, so it's impossible to get the required 50. Tried uninstalling/reinsalling and everything recommended by tech support, but nothing helps. It's frustratingly unusable to the point that it seems like they are making it so you can't get the drivewise discount.
The app lost the ability to save my payment info months ago. I have to type everything in from scratch every time I make a payment, which is not convenient at all! I have to be home to retrieve my payment info since I don't carry it with me. This has been going on at least 6 months, and I'm growing increasingly frustrated.
