So here's my take on the Audyssey MultEQ Editor app. I've tested a bunch of different audio apps and this one is pretty powerful, but it's also not the most intuitive. The learning curve is a bit steeper than I'd like, and it can be easy to get lost in all the different settings and measurements if you're not an audio expert. That said, once you get the hang of it, it gives you a ton of control over your home theater sound that you just can't get from the standard receiver menus. In my experience, it's made a noticeable difference in the acoustics of my room. If you're willing to put in the time to learn it, I'd say it's a valuable tool. But it's probably overkill if you just want something simple to get your system sounding good.

Description

Been using the Audyssey MultEQ Editor app for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that lets you go deeper into the audio settings on your Denon or Marantz receiver. The main thing it does is give you more control over the Audyssey room calibration – you can see the before and after results, and tweak the settings to fine-tune the sound in your space.

There’s a bunch of stuff you can do with this app. You can check the speaker configuration, view the calibration measurements, and make adjustments to the EQ curves and other settings. It’s got some pretty advanced audio tools, but the interface is straightforward enough that it’s not too complicated to use.

Look, if you’re an audio nerd who wants more control over your home theater sound, you’ll probably get a lot of use out of this app. It’s not perfect – the interface could be a bit more user-friendly in my opinion – but overall it does a solid job of giving you that extra level of tuning that the basic receiver settings don’t provide. Worth checking out if you have one of the compatible Denon or Marantz models.
