This sprinkler controler is absolutely amazing. Every feature I could ever think of having is at my fingertips on my mobile device. Easy to set up, easy to program zones, more time for other things. Fantastic!
Reviews for b-hyve Pro
← Back to b-hyve ProQuality app. Really shines on startup and blow out because you can walk around freely to check everything. Works well over wifi or over the air on vacation. No bugs so far after over a year of use.
About a month ago I installed my first smart controller. Even though the old controller was top off line, it wasn't easy to use. my new smart controller and b-hyve is incredibly easy to program and operate.
This app allows users to create irrigation schedule allowing for gardeners etc. to do routine work. however if you need to adjust or cancel. It can be done from anywhere as long as you have your smartphone and a signal. The rain delay feature is one of my favorites.
App works great, lots off information in app, smart watering feature is very useful once it's set up properly and can save alot on your water bill, providing that the timer is connected to your Wi-Fi and the watering will be determined by your weather forecast...very cool.
Works well for what I need it to do. Gives me good schedule options for my sprinkler system. Smart watering option is a cool idea, but I don't use it as I prefer to have more control over when and how long watering occurs.
I just got my B-hyve Irrigation Timer system today. Easy setup. So far, so good!
I paid for this app because a video posted said you can change the email address from within the app. Why is this not an option with the free, paid, or website apps? If I sell my property, am I supposed to rip out the timer because I can't change the email address? Ridiculous! What if I am unable to get into my email used. This is common sense to allow users to change email addresses if they choose.
The app worked during the winter when my arigation system was off, sending me rain delay notifications etc. Since the spring, I have been unable to work the system with this app. I've unplugged and reset the main panel and uninstalled and reinstalled the app.
They did a new update and you can't even find over 3/4 of our customers.. It just shows a select few. We have well over 300 customers and if this continues we will have to find different WiFi controllers that have an app that we can work with. Hope they fix this problem.
Smart watering and rain delays are a little unpredictable but overall good app. Updating review and dropping a star. The Feb 2025 update caused programs to run though they were turned off. I will try turning them on and back off to see if that corrects the issue. Incompetence is more the rule than the exception in this day and age.
The free app works better. Since the last update, the paid version has a bug that only allows you to use one program at a time. I reset the app and the controller and nothing fixed it. Uninstalled and got the free app and everything works. Why did I pay for an app that is broken when the free one works fine?
Fix your app! The zone watering history and future watering schedules display random information so you really have no idea what is going on with your watering. Also, the system skips watering because of forecast rain on the schedule page, even though we have no rain at my house and the "smart watering" feature is turned off in the app.
This was fixed but its back again. if you run manually, I used to be able to pick and choose the order of zones, now, it automatically runs in the numeric order of the zones. This doesn't work for me. Sometimes I want to mix up the zone order
It's so far been unable to connect to my home WiFi yet my phone's connection is full strength.
Keep the FREE app - this one as of 12/31/22 is identical to the free one. Its a waste of $9.99. I have a wifi hub & 3 hose timers in hopes this Pro version would allow me to set up a program for multiple zones/timers. Nope. I need a program that turns on both timers #1 & #2 for 10 minutes... then turn on timers #1 & #3 for 10 minutes. This app nor the free one will let me do that. Waste of $9.99.
Mechanically, the timers work fine. But the technology is super finicky. The hub is the part that is supposed to relay settings to the timers. But the wifi has to be 2.4Ghz. I originally set up my system with an older router, but my current eero router defaults to 5Ghz. An hour on the phone with Tech support, and it still isn't working as intended.
You might be wondering what the difference is between this app and the free one? Did they finally realize having to click and connect into each device to program is poor design, tedious and there should be a unified interface to program a hub group at once? Nope. From what I can tell they added a map button, made the device tab look a little different, and added an extra share version that looks the same as device sharing in the free app. Everything else appears identical, except it's $10.
Terrible. One of the devices ran all day long and never shut off. I had to turn my water line off because the app had no water usage record, and I was unable to turn off my sprinklers from the app. My garden is ruined, my roses are suffering from sitting in flooded clay soil, and my water bill is going to be higher than ever. My device has new batteries and was connected. This should have never happened, completely unreliable!!
The app works, but there are several bugs that make it difficult to understand. 1. All my notifications are blank. I have the icon in my notifications tray, but no text 2. When I open the app, I get a message that smart watering program will begin at that moment I open the app 3. Many times the app doesn't report how long the sprinklers ran or when they plan on running again for a day or more after the fact. 4. I get an error trying to submit feedback in the app. 5. There is more
