So here's my take on Bandsintown Concerts. I've tried a bunch of different concert and live music apps, and this one's pretty solid overall. The core functionality of discovering shows, getting alerts, and even requesting tour stops is really well done. It syncs up nicely with streaming services too. The only downside is that the notifications can get a little excessive at times, but you can tweak the settings to control that. Other than that, it's a great way to stay on top of your favorite artists' tours and discover new acts playing in your city.

Cons

  • Notifications can be a bit spammy at times
  • Search results don't always seem fully up-to-date
  • Upgrading to the paid version isn't really necessary

Description

Been using Bandsintown Concerts for a couple months now. It’s basically an app that helps you find live music events near you and get notified when your favorite artists announce shows. Pretty solid if you’re into discovering new concerts and not missing out on your favorite bands.

Here’s what you do – you can connect it to your Spotify or Apple Music and it’ll track the artists you listen to. Then it’ll send you alerts whenever they have a gig coming up in your area. And you can also just search for concerts, festivals, or specific venues and it’ll show you what’s happening. There’s also an option to request that artists add your city to their tour, which is pretty cool. Took me a while to figure that one out but it’s useful.

Look, if you’re into live music, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the notifications can be a bit spammy sometimes – but overall it does the job of keeping you in the loop on shows. Worth checking out.
