Reviews for Blink Charging Mobile App

Kevin Burke

App does not work well, even with full 5g signal strength on a new phone. Poor user interface. Constantly prompts me to agree to terms and conditions, after I have agreed once this shouldn't keep popping up. Repetitively prompts me to provide credit card info, despite the station I am attempting to use being free. Using near field connectivity force opened Google wallet, did not initiate charging. I was unable to successfully look up the charging station, and unable to charge my vehicle.

Unusable. Every click takes 10+ seconds to complete even just focusing in a text box. Besides that it's incredibly complicated. You need to register to add a credit card. You are then required to get a "Blink code". To do this you must put $20 into your account whether you opted for the auto-refill or not. Why not use phone tap & NFC? You can request a physical Blink card in the mail - again, why not use a phone? Cost of charging is more than double Tesla Supercharger rates. Don't bother.

I installed this app and as of 1 hour later I'm still not able to charge my vehicle. I can't get into account settings, can't turn off auto refill, it won't connect to any of the four chargers, and when I try to log in, it flashes and then says "session expired", over and over again. This app is the number one argument for not getting an electric car. oh, and did I mention that is incredibly slow? 25% in about 3 hours.

This is one of the most poorly made and poorly functioning programs I have ever used. It takes multiple seconds to notice you tapped a field. It randomly leaves fields and doesn't let you put in data. It can't even search for one of it's own stations when I managed to put in the exact charging station code. Avoid. Do not use. Forces you to use a terrible app that requires payment upfront so they can hold on to your money and give you a terrible experience.

Setting aside how little I want to maintain a cash balance rather than pay per session, the app by itself is absolutely awful. It takes forever to perform any action, including pull up the keyboard to input information. On top of that when you set up the account it will opt you into auto reload, which would charge you $20 immediately which you can use for charging.

One of the worst apps I have used recently. Janky UI that constantly misses the clicks and closes the keyboard popup. Credit card form doesn't let Android auto fill to work, so for the first time in many years, I had to type the credit card number by hand. Guest mode doesn't work well - it is no faster than signing up. By far the worst charging experience, and that's saying something. edit: tried twice again and still the same experience. Devs should be ashamed of themselves.

It looks like the charging fee is applied when you have to switch to a different charger due to a defective unit at the hotel destination. attempts to try to get the fee waive seems to indicate that isn't possible when you are trying to find a working system in the charging location. location in question is town place suite in Chattanooga TN

Poor Useability. At the charging kiosk the digital QR code takes you to the chargers within the zip code, not the one you are actually trying to access. so you have to figure out what stall you are on. but the stall numbers on the app don't match the stall number at the digital kiosk. you could end up reserving a totally different charging spot. it's chaos lol!!! also a waste of time when most people are just trying to park and not deal with this odd challenge

The process is frustrating. I get charged a $3 start fee even when the charging session fails due to a fault in their machine. Every time, I have to call customer support to request a refund for something that shouldn't have been charged in the first place. Their system should be smart enough to automatically waive the fee if the issue is on their end. It's ridiculous—I’ve never had to deal with this kind of hassle with other EV charging providers. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

They make you put a $20 deposit on an account. if you're only using their chargers one time, they make the refund process as difficult as possible. you can't refund the difference on the app. you have to call their 1-800 number during business hours. I ended up holding an hour only to be told they have to create a ticket to have money refunded. I will never use a blink charger again. oh and having nothing to do with the app, the chargers are terrible.
