I'm on week 3 with a coach and I've lost 5lbs. That might not seem like much but the first two weeks were "training". I'm happy so far. (8/6/20) Update: it would be great if the app was compatible with my watch so I could have a tile that shows if I'm eating or fasting and how much time is left. The same widget that is in the app would work. (4/3/24)
Reviews for BodyFast: Intermittent Fasting
← Back to BodyFast: Intermittent FastingCustomer support is non-existent. I paid for coaching when I used an Android phone. Switched to an iPhone and although I log in with the same credentials and can see my progress on both phones, coaching was locked out on the iPhone. Then after resetting the Android, I can log into the app, but now coaching is locked out of that phone too. Even with an active subscription to the coaching. Emails to support are just ignored. Stay away from this app. There are tons of fasting apps out there.
Super helpful app. They really make it easy. Adjusts to your schedule (I work 2-1030pm) & find methods that are good for you, even with the free version. Would 100% recommend to anyone! So much more than weight loss comes with fasting. It personally helps me feel my best bc my body isn't constantly over-nourished and digesting something so it can spend time on other functions. I also find time for all my hobbies & self care again as it serves as a great distraction during fasting periods !
I just finished my 1st week. I like the reminders, and the various options for fasting times. I chose the 14-10 fasting option which lasts from 730p -930a. I was not used to fasting daily (i used to do spiritual fasts for just one day as opposed to one whole week), but this was not bad for me. I also have goals in mind so that was my motivation. I will continue to utilize the free option for now until I can afford the paid option. Its not expensive, but I have other priorities/obligations. Try!
A lot more come with purchasing the coach but honestly the free fasting plans are pretty great without the coach. The reminders before fasting period and when you can start eating are great and there are so many plans to choose to put your own life. And, if you find you have to "abort" a week you can and it prompt you to record what went wrong, so you can learn how to improve. definitely recommend for anyone interested in trying fasting.
If you're looking for an app for intermittent fasting, you're definitely in the right place. However, the cheapest payment for it is 34.99 for 3 months which isn't terrible if you use the app everyday and you're dependent on it. It isn't free, though. As most things these days aren't! Edit: The Dev replied below; however, you can't use this app at all without a subscription. There isn't any "free" features you just can't continue into the app.
I paid for three months of premium, but honestly I don't see the point of it now. You see all the different plans but you can find plans by Googling them. The "coaching" is not someone actually checking in with you in real time. It's more like, thoughts and tips that are sent to you through the app. Not customized in any way that I can see. It's kind of nice that you get notifications on the phone about starting/stopping your fasting but I don't see a reason to pay extra and I won't renew.
Just started yesterday, but so far, I really like it! You can get personalized coaching if you pay a monthly subscription, but as I'm just seeing if fasting is right for me, I don't feel the need to pay and am just following a basic beginner's fasting schedule for now. I'm trying to drop 20 lbs after giving birth to my son. The interface is user-friendly, colorful, and pretty motivating! So far, so good! And I'm not being blasted with ads! (Thank you for that!!)
I just started, but the app seems great. Very user friendly, and I love the notifications. The only thing I've come across so far that I would want changed is the measurements of water consumption. There are some predetermined amounts for you to choose from, but none match what my water bottle holds. I'd love to just be able to type the number of ounces I want. Small thing but it'd be nice to have my water consumption accurate. Other than that, great app.
As a medical doctor, I have been really intrigued by the whole concept of Internittent Fasting and the mTor pathway etc. In fact, I found myself including "intermittent fasting, in almost all of my more recent presentations on Diabtetes and other chronic NCD'S. So, imagine my excitement when I found this app. But..it leaves much to be desired; unless I open up the app, I don't know which period I am in. It's also in dire need of a meal planner if it is to deliver the weight loss it promotes, etc
(Update) Response from the team is trying to gaslight me as if I didn't set it up correctly. The "Coach" on their ads is an automated algorithm. Who knows if it's a fixed set of programs or if it reflects your input? The concept is good, but I don't get any real coaching from a human, so it's questionable if this is personalized. I don't know what I'm paying $30/3mo for— be aware of false advertisement, and it is not worth paying.
okay so as promise I'm updating to 5 stars. this app is great. now I'm only 25 and I work a lot and most times I just don't have time to make a diet list or whatever and well with this app I've done it all. it's helped me by giving me a goal to hit and the coaching is good as well. I've lost a total of 7 lbs in almost 3 weeks. if you're skeptical on spending money on it. trust me it's worth it if you put in the work. only complaint is I wish you guys would add like an exercise coach during fast
You state there is a 7 day trail period to try the app. I purchased a subscription thinking I could cancel within 7 days and not be charged. I tried your app for 2 days I had issues and canceled my subscription. I was still charged for 1 month membership and have it until May 8th. The reason for the 1 star is you lied. Stating 7 days I would not be charged and was charged a week later after even canceling. so I had been canceled for a week then you charged my card. unbelievable
seems basic so far, I paid for 1 week so far. it's a rolling sub so make sure you cancel if you only want a week. Had I been offered a trial I'd probably look for another app. You can't go back if you already started your fast the previous day. I am doing omad and will be doing carnivore for my 1 meal. Carnivore meal recipes would be a great addition, it's highly vegetable based meals. you can track your weight and your waist and hip measurements but there are free apps for that and better.
This is really fascinating and informative so far. I didn't expect such the extra coaching and detailed information on each stage of fasting. For someone that doesn't like to do anything without good reason, this is really helping me to trust the process. I've only had the app a few days though, so I'll be back if I have results or disappointment to show for it.
I paid for a quarterly subscription and the price did not renew with the original quarterly price. I started at $27.99 USD and then jumped to $59.99 USD the next quarter. To put that in perspective they are currently offering an annual price of $59.99 USD. Legal to do, yes? However, if you pay for a monthly or quarterly subscription know the price you paid on month one is not the price you'll continue to pay for recurrence. This app is not worth $240 annually for a Quarterly subscription.
SCAM! STAY AWAY! The app itself is somewhat helpful. It gives you a 'personalized' fasting schedule. Doesn't explain how it arrived at it. It does tell you that the first week varies a lot, to stimulate metabolism. Which makes sense and I appreciate that. What I do not appreciate is being roped into buying an ebook for $29 in addition to the subscription fee. This was not clear and designed to not be clear. When I contacted 'customer service' I got a blow off answer of "you bought it." Cancelled
I like it! seems to cover it all. I've only used it 2 days. I like the countdown, I love the water monitor, by % & as it fills the body & it tells u how much to drink, or at least shoot for. there are readings to go through. This is free version & you can easily bypass the ads quickly. you can also switch the different fasting time periods. it has over 10 million downloads, 4.7 stars. I had googled best IF aps & this was one that came up. Glad I chose it. I am taking it one day at a time.
Veteran faster here but got way off track in the past year or so. Only started with this app yesterday but I absolutely love it. Super easy to use, flexible, tons of fasting protocols that are editable (which is a huge plus for me). I bought the coaching subscription and am finding that helpful too. Severe mixed ADHD here, so I need lots of support staying on track. I think this app is gonna do it.
Tracking is incredibly cumbersome. I can't start and stop fasting. It does it automatically for me. If I want to adjust I have to go in and adjust a specific time period that's mapped out in a weekly format. The paid "coach" does absolutely nothing. Doesn't take into account your adjusted times and suggest something different like implied. It's just a set cycle that you go through. Water tracking is also stupid because you can't customize the amounts more. Totally not worth the money.
