So far this app sucks. I completed the 5 step program to unlock a limit up to 8000 for balance transfers but it's just stuck. It hasn't unlocked anything. I've had it for 3 months. I'll pay for 3 more months but after that, I'm more than likely gonna cancel. No one has answered me for the past 2 weeks to even help me resolve my issue! I would not recommend this app unless you have patience and don't need the money or balance transfer.
Reviews for Bright Money - AI Debt Manager
← Back to Bright Money - AI Debt ManagerIt was great at first, but something has happened in the last month, and the safeguards have stopped working. I have received 12 overdraft fees in the past 3 weeks because the app is over pulling past my limit. Update: I still have not received my money back. It's has been almost a month. The person who reached out on here responded to one email which was no help and was in its customer service, and if they do, they do not care. AVOID THIS APP! Update: 2 months later and still no support.
So far, so garbage. They advertise this app as a way to build credit, but then they make you deal with debits that aren't clearly scheduled, and then you have to apply for another program - after they debit you 5 times!? The app asked when to take money out. I chose, but it decided not to do it. Customer service is telling me that their "AI" will deduct it when it's best for me!? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Unless they give me a schedule, I'm canceling! Trash
Bright Money is a good resource for building credit in a simple way. If you struggle to make payments on time for credit cards, they have a program that will do so for you with money you can't touch. And at the end it's yours to keep (because they saved it for you from your income) and you've got a credit line you can start with them. Just be aware there's a "nominal" fee that's easy to miss and be charged for later on. That blindsided me a bit when it happened, but beyond that it's been good.
The intent of the app is admirable, but I was unable to put all of my accounts into Bright to pay automatically, and as a result, the app would automatically deduct money from my account that was meant to pay other bills, leaving me repeatedly short. I had to start "hiding" my money in savings and transferring when I thought it would be deducted. I do not believe the algo is really intelligent enough to read the past activity on your account and determine your true money usage patterns, otherwise it would know when large amounts of money were pending for other regular bill payments.
Was fine in the beginning, but after it started paying my credit card and I was paying at the same time. It ends up over paying the credit card. When you go to get a refund, you can't get ONE if you don't like it after 14 DAYS!! YOU barely get it set up in 14 days. The only thing the app does is take out transactions from your bank to their app in that time frame. You don't really get to see it doing to much until about a month.
I was able to add most of my accounts, then the app closed and I've been trying unsuccessfully to gain access again for hours. Edit: I contacted Bright as requested and they simply told me to wait 24 hours and try again. I was able to finally get back into my account without their assistance and when I was going through the settings, see that they had proactively signed me up for a $9.99 a month plan that I cannot cancel through the app. Never was divulged during signup.
Horrible, they take all your info from your bank and you cards to have you connect for them to tell you that you don't qualify for a balance transfer. You give them access to all your bank info. For accounts they don't need access too, they pull all your credit info EVERYTHING. It's like a financial probing. Go with Tally . They let you know if your approved and you add the cards. This was a horrible experience. I wish I could attach screenshots to this review to help others.
Find an Alternative I thought I'd look into trying out the app. I decided it wasn't for me, and did not go any further. Suddenly, out of the blue, months later, money is being transfered, and I'm getting notifications. I try to log into the app and it hangs on authentication. I try calling, and the call always drops. I contacted my bank to block any more withdrawal attempts. Don't use this app.
Bright started taking out too much money from my checking account, often leaving it negative. Yet my "stash" didn't seem to reflect that amount. I had to pause auto savings for two months, because the "safety net" doesn't work, and there's no warning of funds being transferred. Customer service is dreadful. I have to repay the $300 dollar loan I "opted for" without any record of how much I've paid on it already. It's unclear what you're signing up for with this app. Only left me more in dept.
This app works and will help you organize and pay down your cards, make sure you don't miss a payment.. your credit score will improve. BUT Their customer service is atrocious. The paid version is crazy expensive. It's very nearly false advertising about the $8,000 balance transfer card. I don't think I'll ever see that. It's been almost a year...
I have been using this app for a few years now. It's great if you have alot of credit cards and want to "set it and forget it" to make sure they get paid and don't have to worry about late fees. It's also great at helping you find the best way to pay down you cards and "get out of debt" it has alot of other helpful features as well. My biggest issue as more of a positive criticism that I hope helps it improve over time is that it constantly loses connection with cards and or banks. So Annoying!
Scammers. I would never agree to pay an annual fee for any membership. So randomly, I was changed almost $90 for an annual membership that I did not sign up for. Now on my bank, it's showing no longer pending and it's fully processed. But on this app, I still have to wait 4-5 business days to BEGIN the refund process. Not to mention this whole time, my credit barely moved. But as soon as I got Kikoff or Self I saw a major improvement. Horrible service overall.
Bright credit is a scam, don't do it. It's just a way for them to jump on the bandwagon and suck money from you. And the interest seems to go up fast. Don't do it! I regret it! And they keep hounding you for manual payments which defeats the purpose of automation. Update: The app is always inaccurate. Some important info doesn't show at all. Bright balances are mitch match, it takes a very long time for bright payments to be applied. I can't make payments on bright credit.
Terrible. I never received my advance but I was still charged an exorbitant fee. I tried to cancel repeatedly but they take so long to respond it's pointless. I can't sit watching a chat for ten hours hoping for a reply, and they close the chat immediately if you aren't there when someone deigns to respond. The app UI is also awful. You can't use basic typing features like automatic caps at the start of a sentence, for seemingly no reason, and the app pushes and pushes you into using credit.
They're dirty. I'm guessing they had my information from when I downloaded Current, because I didn't even sign up for Bright, I just downloaded the app, and they still charged me a large membership fee I didn't agree to. I can't even get into the app to contact customer service to dispute, so they're getting blocked from my bank accounts and getting reported.
I think the creators of this app abandoned it. Can't add new credit cards. Current cards get unenrolled for no reason. No customer service whatsoever. Edit: Bad customer service, submitted multiple tickets with zero follow-up or solution, AI doesn't work, cards kept getting disenrolled, balance is incorrect on cards that I do have enrolled. I couldn't even use certain characters while typing why i was canceling in the box while I was canceling. A very poorly supported app.
Waste of time and money five. I did the bright credit builder in order to be able to apply for a line of credit of up to 8000 dollars. Made all monthly payments on time just to be told they don't offer lines of credit through this app. And it took away to discover where I could possibly apply for lines of credit. Don't waste your time with this joke of a company.
Similar experience to other reviews. I've paid the yearly fee for more than a year now and credit builder is stuck on last payment for the past 6 months. So called 24/7 support is automated and leads to nowhere. They give false directions to menus that don't exist in the app for example the ability to make manual payments... Will update review with my experience. Update: A year later this is still unusable. This a scam!! Stay away
horrible customer service. you get locked out with no answers for weeks or months at a time. they take money randomly they pick the amount. if you change your phone number it could take months to get back into it. not a good way to save and put aside money. you won't have access when you need it and the people in customer service are zero help. if i could rate under 1 star I would. DONT DO IT IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR MONEY, CREDIT AND LIVELIHOOD!!!
