Reviews for BubbleUPnP UPnP/DLNA License

The app does what it has promised but quite often it delivers the message "failed to extract video (serve error)..." when trying to play an IPTV channel. When trying a few times, it plays the channel. Annoying. For a paid app, is unacceptable.

I paid for it, I guess that was my first mistake. It does nothing on my PS3. All that happens when I try to access anything is corrupted file messages. I've sent an email to the support and have yet to hear back after several days. I really want my $5 back, but if I can't even get an email back what could I really expect? This app sucks the biggest balls in the universe. If I could erase it from the internet I would, it's that horrible.

Just what I have been looking for. I can receive my cloud music (without having to download it), attach an old Android phone with Bubble to my a/v receiver using a 3.5 mm audio to RCA cable and then remotely control that phone with another using Bubble also. Elegant and simple. Now I can junk the Roku with its clunky interface.

This is the sort of software music collectors have been asking for. Play your music from almost anywhere to almost anything. Just started using this as an alternative to the Yamaha MusicCast app. So far I am very impressed. It streams music from Tidal to my Yamaha systems flawlessly. And even more impressive, it acts as a media server, streaming FLAC files I have backed up in Google Drive to any speaker system in the house. A Plex alternative. Can even be your default music service streamer.

I bought this app years ago and I stopped using it some time ago as I was no longer using a DLNA server at home but I have installed it again recently and I find that it offers a great way to mix my music files and a streaming service seamlessly. Casting to my home devices is much more reliable with this app than any other streaming app. It's a beautiful and extremely flexible piece of software. Simple but full of options to customise the experience. Thumbs up!

This app is working so much better than hifi cast in maintaining connection with my sony HAP Z1es on our wifi. I am really pleased with its stability. My only complaint is that there is an unusually long silence between songs. I'm talking easily a minute of silence. It's as if the app is buffering the song before playing it. So I timed a gap at 1 minute 45 seconds. That is unacceptable!

A nearly perfect application that I enjoy(ed) connecting to my home system. The inclusion of Tidal is nice, and shows detail by the developer(s). With said detail considered, I am left confused when the developer(s) didn't incorporate gapless playback but rather a long pause between songs. Classical music is my primary choice and gapless play is a necessity. Please consider incorporating gapless play. Hi-Fi Cast is doing gapless and I will have to use that app until gapless is incorporated.

It's not easy to get 5 stars from me, and the reason I can't give this app 5 stars is the gapless playback setting location. Once enabled, it works as expected. But it took very long time to find it. It would be perfect if there was an option to enable it on all renderers with one checkbox. Maybe even enabled by default. I use the app to stream Tidal from an Android phone to Denon AVR X3700H (that don't have Tidal connect). Love the app. Looking forward to upgrade rating when settings improved.

Works well, no issues (anymore). Original review below when I rated it 1 star. "Bought this yesterday to transcode and stream to my chromecast and it worked perfectly yesterday and I was happy. Today I went to use it and it just doesn't work and only displays a blank screen that says BubbleUPnP. I have tried restarting my phone and the chromecast, and reinstalling this app. Nothing worked. Big sad."

It was great for the first 4 weeks but now it won't cast at all. It won't even show the app name on my TV and says chromecast failed to launch. Even after multiple CC factory resets, clearing data, many attempts using different methods and spending hours trying to make it work again it's just dead. There were growing issues with the app when it already tried to play the slat media every time I opened the app and that stuffed my chromecast each time and now it's insurable. I regret buying this.

I've tried two other UPNP players (Twonky, Pure Flow Player) and this is by far the best. Good navigation and it actually works well. Artwork displays well, search works efficiently, navigation is clear. Continuity of support seems reliable. I have a couple of quibbles/requests: had to turn off gapless setting to get track transition without a false start. Also, can it also please handle liner notes/booklet/artwork?

I'm taking a star off everytime I get told to pay for a licence I have already purchased! Followed all the instructions to stop the license from being stopped, but it still keeps being halted. Love bubbleup, although it would be nice if the license could be handled without a second app.

Good day. I've got a Yamaha home theater system. It has wifi connection but not bluetooth. I've downloaded your app to see if i cant play my music that is on my phone through my sound system. Its working 100%. Well done with your app. Very pleased. Still playing around with it. But its working very good. Thanks to all the developers.

Excellent Media Player. I did purchase the license years ago, and never regret it. The Network/UPnP/DLNA support and feature set exceeded my expectations. Works with all my DLNA devices: Windows, Android, iOS, Samsung TV, & Heos. Its very easy to switch libraries and renderers, with lots of options to make it all work properly. Small details like an option to change the queueing behavior when you tap on a song in your library show the level of detail designers put into this. Highly recommended.

I've had the license for as long as i can remember but the main app continued to ask me if i want to pay for it and now will not allow me full license features. This used to be excellent but poor maintenance is producing a very poor application. I'm spending more time messing around with it than actually enjoying it.

I bought this app for one purpose only, to stream google play music to my PS3. For that purpose it works for me. There were some issues in setting up, the process is convoluted and not intuitive. Despite that there is a webpage set up for this purpose and it is thorough and concise which in my mind sets things right. As third party apps go 5 bucks is well worth it. It is also available for the family plan which is important to me. As it progresses I am sure some of the little idiosyncrasies will be worked out and it will be a five star app at that point. Meanwhile I am always happy to see a third party app work around the moderately draconian policies of Sony.

Bought the license since this app is really well made and it's clear that the developer actually cares about improving it. Currently using it with Jellyfin Media server hosted on a desktop PC with a Nvidia GPU for transcoding and it works very well. One issue I had was when 2 android devices had bubbleupnp (one playing a song, another controlling the song) it would not change the song and it wouldn't pause or skip the song either, if I had left the same song playing I could do all of those.

This app is excellent for using UPnP to send your high quality music (local and streaming services) to all sorts of receivers and smart speakers, and even to other Android devices. I can play music from Tidal on my Denon AVR, my Audio Pro Wi-Fi smart speaker, and (for convenience reasons) a tablet dedicated as the renderer for a stationary headphone setup (using USB Audio Pro as the renderer). Trust me, this app is worth the money. Just make sure to figure out all the local network quirks.

It works, but sometimes it doesn't and I'll have to reinstall or spend hours, days even, trying to figure out what the problem is. But I'm grateful for it, because I can stream Tidal on Volumio without paying extra fees. It's not fun navigating, but it's become an integral part of my amazing sounding hifi setup.

I've used BubbleUPnP for 8 years, and it is by far the most powerful and versatile streaming app for streaming A/V content from my home PC over the mobile network to my phone. I have not synced a playlist to my phone in over 8 years, since now I have my own vast library at my fingertips. Spotify is great, but for streaming your own music, videos or picture Bubble UPnP is the best app. It has changed the way I listen to music. Thanks Bubbleguum! 🎧🎼 Must turn port fowarding on on your router.
