Everything one would expect from C-Span, plus you can watch anything at anytime. My only gripe is it lacks some basic features like rewinding and fast forwarding with a live event. I would have given stars if it had all the features we come to expect from apps like YouTube. I'm sure they will keep working on it.

There needs to be a way to cast this to a TV. Also, if you don't have a cable provider, and many do not these days, there should be a stand-alone app that could be paid. I appreciate being able to watch on my phone, but casting to TV is a more preferred way to watch. C-span needs to come up to date with their casting and sub capabilities. If you are broadcasting political events that affect everyone, then everyone should have access.

Disgusting. It's C-span and there are ads. Makes me sick. It's supposed to be a non-partisan platform & corporate overlords own it. C-Span Radio app no longer works b/c it wasn't profitable. The schedule layout is also terrible. You can only view a narrow window of what is upcoming & then pop-ups of live video pop up while looking at schedule, blocking the schedule. Can't listen to other channels b/c they're video & you can't listen on lock screen. I hate this app. Negative stars.

The old app works way better when using android auto. This app used to work with android auto and for many months and 2 phones no longer works or is very intermittent. Controls don't work at all on my head end .. I have to control it from my phone. To get live audio I have to start a cspan pod cast then select the live stream at which point I get the love stream audio but with the pod cast audio over it.. I hope they fix this before removing the old app thay I can listen with Bluetooth inmy car

Hard to find things, no search option, older items disappear, "modern" page layout is not useful, cspan should be an encyclopedic resource, not cutesy "Now" page.. please go back to former format. Thanks. Also, why is my review public? Not a good idea!! Where's the enter or submit key?

Edit: original rating more reflected the dissatisfaction with CSPAN's necessity for network subscriptions and not the app itself. Layout of the app is pretty straightforward, ads are in the videos and each page (including the clips' when you open them). I can't attest to the streaming quality but I presume some banner ad would be there as well My opinion still stands, with the popularity of dropping networks I wish I could pay y'all directly as we should all be able to see what congress does.

While all channels are displayed on the "listen" tab, only C-Span radio (cspan 1) is operational. all others require a cable subscription. Don't reply that this isn't the case, there isn't a workaround to "listen only" for these other channels. The original app has this but the notifications are not operational.

My review during the first 30minutes after installing. Pros: Live stream Cons: 1. C-SPAN app blinks & does an ad and keeps blinking and stopping so it's difficult at best to even see the livestream 2. Because of needed donations, C-SPAN will not allow casting to TV. Maybe C-SPAN can offer an option to purchase the app? 3. This is only C-SPAN and does not seem to include C-SPAN 2, however, I could be wrong on this point. Conclusion: CSPAN doesn't make it easy to use this app but it is what it is

I found it difficult to use and too difficult to find rebroadcast times. I started to watch the medical debt hearing but couldn't finish it so I got the app and on the app I can't find any list of rebroadcast of things that have already been broadcasted by topic. Could be a lot more viewer oriented.

Terrible. App doesn't let you easily connect to other providers (can't copy/paste acct info into a "link provider" screen bc it resets every time it loses focus). Can't really watch anything bc everytime you interact with the app it triggers a new ad! Don't rewind or resize or basically anything or your stream is interrupted by another ad. Gave up.

I downloaded the mobile app because I thought it would be easier to access footage through the app than through a browser. This turned out to be true only for the 30 or so most recent programs. It is not possible search for and view any earlier footage.

The content is great but live videos will regularly stop playing with a quick notification about the timing of the event having changed. Definitely a subpar UX. Inability to play when the screen locks is a negative, but that may be an Android issue and not app. Figuring out when videos will automatically undock based on what you do with switching apps can be tricky. ETA I think the dev misunderstood the timing issue. While watching a live event, the stream will actually stop with that error.

I do not have cable therefore I can't watch LIVE episodes I wish that would have been stated in the Google Playstore before I down this app.

Excellent source of organized news information. However, I wish there was a dark mode feature. Dark mode helps people with vision issues

I used to be able to listen to Cspan without needing to keep my phone on. now I can listen for a minute before it stops

I know this is a streaming app, but it should just be like the website where you could go to something you want to watch from any point. Also there should be the option to throw it to the Roku like they do in YouTube and facebook. I've emailed about this, but nobody listens. Streaming apps are worthless without a pause or starting point option.

Just downloaded the app. 10 times better than what is shown on tv. When the tv goes to split screen, the vote totals are almost impossible to read, even on a 75" tv. Even on a cellphone everything stays crisp and clear.

App works pretty well. It does have ads but not too many. It doesn't always show the sessions I want to see.

Fantastic app that is easy to use and has an incredibly easy to navigate layout. One big frustration with this app is that there is no way to stream video from my phone to my TV like with other video app out there. I don't want to have to be staring at my phone at all times when watching Washington journal, for example. It would allow me and other viewers to freedom to navigate and watch segments much easier.

I just downloaded this app and I get NOTHING! My wifi and data coverage is top notch, so this isn't the problem! NOTHING will load! I cant watch LIVE or past videos! My device is new and I don't have problems with any other apps! Is CSPAN trying to keep us from watching what our public servants are doing and saying? UPDATE: 3 DAYS later, still the same! nothing works! Just spins and spins! no video, no audio! WHAT A JOKE!
