It's Not the App...it's the logic the Cold Stone programmers apply. The website and app use the same method for building an order and its not the MOST user friendly approach. But once you get the hang of it, it's straightforward. I would suggest you allow people to track their gift cards within the app too. It would also be nice if I could see my rewards. Add these two and it at least goes to 4 stars. Since I order the same thing every time, the app saves me time.

I would've accidentally ordered without my promo code or applying a tip tonight if I had my credit card info correct when I entered it the first time. It was only after seeing my card declined that I realized that was the final page and there wouldn't be an option afterwards to add those things. Other than that, the app serves its function!
This app is not easily searchable and the naming of categories are not intuitive. Looking to buy a Pt of ice cream? You have to go to the "cold stone for your freezer" tab for their signatures, and a combo of the "family pack" tab and the "create your own" tab for their regular flavors. Not to mention when you go to check out it askes you for a specific time you want to pick it up by and if it's too soon it won't go through. Just give me an ASAP option and text me when it's ready.
I cannot place an order. No way to report bugs. Ended up using DoorDash to place my order instead. Called Cold Stones Conntact us number to alert them to the problem. I was expecting anything free or anything I just wanted to let them know about the problem. I was placed on hold for 15 minutes after my initial conversation and then I was hung up on. I used the old version of this app alot in 2020. It worked great. You should switch back.
The updated app is "prettier" and all, but it's so much worse. My email just refuses to work and it says it's an invalid account when I try to reset it. But when I try to sign up, it says that email is already in use. And when I did try to order something as a guest, the special request field was just straight up gone. And some of the pre-made ones were missing. They get 2 stars instead of 1 only because the design is better.
App is complete garbage. First, you can't use the registration BOGO or the Birthday BOGO for no arbitrary reason besides it has to be "in store". I thought the point of the app was to be convenient and safe during the pandemic? Second, this app won't allow you to scroll to select the bowl so it's literally unusable because you can't add the item to the cart. You would think that you'd want to encourage MORE people to use the app as opposed to never wanting to deal with this company again.
This app has no order confirmation screen ... just takes you back to the checkout screen with Pay at the bottom. So, a person doesn't know if their card and/or order went through. Apparently for some dumb reason, the store here turns their online ordering system off 2 hours before they close, which is useless. Without the order confirmation or a popup asking if I wanted to place the order for tomorrow (which most apps do), I drove 20 minutes up to Cold Stone to pick up shakes that weren't made
App is clunky, makes it hard to apply discounts/special offers, and does not allow you to cancel order. To cancel, you have to call store, where nobody knows how to cancel/refund. Store told me they have 'nothing to do' with app, but app does not allow full interaction for orders. Uninstalled and will go to Baskin-Robbins for ice cream from now on.
I usually get a mix of 2 different flavored ice cream. It will only let me choose 1 flavor. Also I dont understand how to add 2 "mix" ingredients. It almost looks like a scale with it saying 10/10. What does that mean. Why can't you just put you want 2 brownies! This app was frustrating. So I gave up and lucky I was able to go inside (during COVID19) to chose what I wanted. This should also have an option 2 see your rewards (if you have any). I missed out on a bday coupon. No email was sent
If you're looking to get your order ahead of others, this is an app to get. The app itself works for that part, but it doesn't work great if you have rewards to spend. For me, it says I have that $5 off to use in the rewards inbox, but it doesn't show when I go to check out. It doesn't save any payment methods, whether you check the "save payment method" box or not. Please fix this app :(
This app is terrible! Deleted within 5 minutes of downloading. 1. I can't edit my account settings 2. I can't choose which store to pick up from ( you're stuck with the one you chose at sign up) 3. It doesn't display all the items available for order. I literally go to the website and can order anything on the menu. 4. I don't have the option to use or view rewards. Hard pass on this one.
The app is confusing to navigate and would lock multiple times throughout the order. Also, the bottom buttons where exactly where the phone buttons were, and we couldn't select anything. When we went to checkout, the screen went black. I had to X out of the app and go back in to check if the transaction had gone through.
Just wanted to update this app is still awful and not functional. When you enter instructions the text is white in a white text box so you have to highlight it to be able to read it. I just got a new phone and now I cannot log into the app. No Longer Able to Reorder - when I am placing a mobile order I normally just reorder from a previous order because my husband and I always get the same thing and the app was super glitchy and I wasn't able to reorder.
The in-app discount did not match what the store had on "their" end. The app showed 20% off. When I got to the register, they said it was actually "20% off $20." I only spent $10.99, and I only went there in the first place BECAUSE I had the coupon. Deceitful! A bait and switch. Show the full amount of the entire discount in the app, so that people don't feel tricked when they go to pay. I will take my business to Salt & Straw!!
Needs a lot of work. App crashed when delivery was selected which meant I could not add a driver tip (why would any driver accept a $0 tip order??). Unable to use giftcard as a payment method unless it covers the entire total. Special instructions text is invisible when typing. Mix ins which haven't been available for at least a year are still on the menu. Can't use the app to order a cake with writing on it. Just a garbage app all around.
They need to hire better App designers! Sorry, but do you fully test your app functionality before releasing it to the public? I tried to log into my rewards from the app and it takes me to terms and agreements and days to sign up, but no option to move forward or go back to the home page. I had to shut it down and reopen. And I've had rewards for a long as Cold Stone has offered them!!!!
Probably one of the worst apps out there. I keep getting promotions texted to me, but when applied at checkout it says code cannot be applied. also the items in your cart will disappear and you're instantly logged out if you leave the app to double check the spelling on the promo code or leave the app for any reason.
App has hidden words at times (probably in conflict of my phone's dark mode) where you type and can't see your entry until you hit "done". Rewards aren't adding up as they should. Wouldn't let me apply them as it should. App literally just froze and the screen when black when my submitted order went through. (got an email that told me it DID go through, at least). Had to close and restart the app. Just a messy layout and functionality.
Horrendous app! Logs you out every two seconds! I couldn't place an order because I kept getting logged out, and the order even changed from delivery to pickup and wouldn't let me change it back. Menu items aren't easy to find, either. I don't usually write reviews but this app is just downright awful. Coldstone, whoever you hired to make this app... fire them!
App is absolutely worthless!! took me months just to be able to get into my account. when i was able to. i have to get a 6 digit code every single time i sign in. When trying to add items to the orders. Not all options are available. When trying to check out, I keep getting a "invalid basket id" error what ever the hell that means. if the app freaks out while doing anything (which is often). it logs you out and wipes any current orders. and you have to start over.
