What a BS... Couldn't use loaded deal before it expired. And I know it wasn't. Also any time if you leave the app for a minute or so, the checkout basket is erased. Why not let us add items to order first if you want to lure us with small deals. Wasting my time with false deals that might be too good or don't work is worse than not having great deals to begin with.

There is no way to cancel the order after it's been placed once you realize your mistake! I have lost time, gas, and good food over this inconvenience!!😡😡 grrrrrrr
I used to be able to scan a coupon code from the coupons that get mailed. That feature doesn't work anymore. Also, I recently saw the in-store marketing that said "free coffee every day" I never see that offer in my offers section. It is currently 9:54am here and it's not there. Just went to a physical location and the cashier went thru my app to verify I was looking in the correct place. yup it's not there (never is). also the FAQ's page on the app doesn't load.
It's more outdated compared to other fast food apps and feels like it hasn't been properly updated. Trying to order certain items is made difficult and inconvenient. When inputting a receipt it doesn't even accept it at most times. There's also no option to delete your account when you're no longer invested in using it anymore.
No one loves Del Taco more than me, and after years of resisting, I finally installed the app on my phone. My first experience is that it is useless. One of the offers for creating an account was two free Del Tacos with any purchase. So I put a burrito in my order, tried to activate the offer, and got a "the required items are not in your cart" error. I tried again several times, with several different items, and the result was the same. What part of "with any purchase" did I misunderstand...
I installed the updated version of the app (after reading a review that said it looked like the app was working again). I used it twice on 8/25/25 and it worked fine. I like to order in person so I appreciate the fact that I am not forced to mobile order like some other apps require. Del Taco still needs to improve their customer service when there is a problem. I still seem to have a problem entering my receipt to receive points when I go to the Covina location.
horrible localization doesn't update location and defaults to a favorite location you have to select when signing up. accidentally order on a location from a prior trip and couldn't pick up or cancel my order when I was at the airport. locations also don't pick up the phone so you can't cancel or even get a refund. you're better off using other apps or just eating somewhere else completely. also, non-existent support through the app, even though there's a section to contact support.
This is one of the better fast food service apps except for one consistent problem that has existed for many years; Every time I select my saved card, it declines and I have to add the exact card details every time I place an order, and it works then. Very annoying bug since the card is there, saved in the app, but it just will never work again after adding it.
This is currently the best of all the fast food apps I've used, but with 2 big flaws. First is the whole concept of 'saving' deals. Everything about this aspect of the app is an inconvenient waste of time and I can't imagine a reason why it's necessary. The second problem is a bug that causes saved payment methods to eventually become invalid. My payment can be saved and SOMETIMES I'm able to use it multiple times, but generally I have to input my info every time I make an order.
I want this app to work so bad, but when I scroll down to make a drink selection on a combo for example, it doesn't show up. The black bar that says add to bag is blocking it. I can't scroll down any further and I can't add it to the bag without selecting it. So I can't order. I took a screenshot and went to "app feedback" in the app but the button didn't work and the customer service page never loaded 😭😭😭 help
App sucks! 1. You should be able to select offers *after* putting items into cart - but you cannot! You must select offers *before* you put anything in the cart, which is crazy and backwards, and not how other apps function. 2. The "feedback about the app" button does nothing! If you click on it, nothing happens at all. So there is literally no way to report issues with the app. 3. "Customer support" button clicks, but nothing loads. Just a blank page.
I had a transaction that I ordered to the wrong location (from the store I wanted to use's parking lot, mind you), and then when I went to check in, the surprisingly polite person behind the counter pointed out my error and suggested that I call, since my error was not here, but at a different store. In my opinion, it is completely understandable. There needs to be a way to let the store know so they can give the order to someone who is there. That store didn't answer after 2 calls.
This app is so slow it's unusable. even if I open it before I go into the store, I still have to wait minutes in the opening splash screen before I can bring up my rewards qr scan code so I can place my order. Programmers of this app haven't thought it through or tested it very well. If nothing else, I should be able to call up my qr rewards code so I can order my food quickly.
The menu system is a bit labyrinthine and it's hard to tell what category the good you want will be found under. The coupon system seems needlessly confusing, but the worst part is that you can't request fresh fries, and with Del Taco, that's a big deal. Other than that, solid app. it hasn't messed up any orders for me so far, which has been a problem with other apps.
Tried to use a reward for a purchase over $5, the error message appeared. The UI is poorly designed and after attempting with different orders for 15 minutes of trying to place a pick up order, I gave up, I left, I made food at home and won't be visiting for a good 6 months. App uninstalled, problem solved. Figure out the UI or don't, clearly an executive hired sub par staff, so he can pocket the difference as a bonus.
The app decided on its own to sign me up for text notifications. When I opened the app the turn off text notifications, it said that I needed to update it. After update, the app won't open up at all. It just hangs on the opening screen for 15 seconds before crashing out and closing. Now I have no way to access and use my rewards. Way to go guys.
Sadly there is one consistent failing of the app. The cancel order functions are iffy at best and you don't get a refund if they store can't fill your order. Like because they are out of food, or they had to shut for some reason. I know the app can't possibly track individual stores but the store can't cancel your order. So be aware, if the store can't fill your order and you press cancel your money is probably gone.
edit: they updated the app and it wont apply deals now, making it 100% useless. The deals are great. The app has issues, but what those are I can't tell them as the "App Feedback" button doesn't work, and their General Comments in customer support leads to a blank screen. (-2 stars to the programmer enjoying the silence.) I use it for the free coffee that sometimes loads and sometimes doesn't. Today it didn’t so I'm going elsewhere, even though I'd rather have gone to Del Taco.
Latest version of the app isn't usable on an android phone due to multiple important buttons rendering behind the navigation bar on the bottom of the phone, which means they can't be used. ('add to bag' and checkout' as two examples). Im on a Galaxy S23 (pretty common Android phone). No ability to add items to the bag (check out cart) + no ability to checkout (pay) = zero purchases. Confirming how the app renders with different font sizes on different phones is developer 101 🤦♂️
I have found the app to be slow, laggy and not intuitive. When you select a deal you then have to go order the items then at check out select the deal AGAIN! If you fail to notice that you get charged full price and don't get the deal because you didn't select it AGAIN! Also, when you select the deal the first time it asks if you are using it in store or in app. once you choose, there seems to be No Way To Change. like if you originally choose offer in app but then get there and decide to use t
