Reviews for Doctor On Demand

← Back to Doctor On Demand

Update: Minus two stars far lack of cutoff warning. The call literally ended while they were talking about the prescription. The provider was clearly as unaware as I was of the time. I get that there needs to be limits, but some kind of 1 minute countdown would be better than "call ended". There's no way to contact the provider via message to get any info that was cutoff either. I like the idea of the app - the convenience of choosing your doctor and appointment times without calling around various clinics is wonderful. The app could be a little better, like the back button doesn't warn in some cases that it might lose data you've entered... Also, I had the app hang when it came back from the background. Still, it does what I need.

Very difficult to use. Not reliable. When I first tried to make an appt it didn't give me the correct copayment info. After I talked to my insurance and they got a hold of DonD, the copay was straightened out. I still couldn't make my appt. There were few therapists. Only 1 offered the modality I wanted. I went thru the scheduling process got to the end and it wouldn't let me book the appt saying she wasn't qualified. I had left a question 3 weeks ago and have received no response.

The service is TERRIBLE. They will charge you a week in advance for an appointment. If you don't pay in advance, they cancel the appointment without warning. The system cuts you off mid sentence when your appointment is over. They don't know how to schedule different types of appointments where the initial appointment needs to be longer than the follow-up. You end up in the "waiting room" staring at your phone waiting for the doctor, sometimes for minutes - kinda the norm I suppose.

When I first started using DoD, it worked but the interface was horrible. It was hard to navigate and glitched. Then they updated it, it got prettier but still had technical issues. Now it's been changed again and it's even worse. Contacting someone about the issues has resulted in no response for over 2 weeks, I've had several appointments canceled and it is still hard to navigate. I wish my counselor used another platform.

Nothing but headaches. Canceled appointments, insurance snafus, weird requests from the doctor, bad/non-working messaging system. Plus, if your appointment goes over 15 minutes (even if it's the fault of the provider), they just shut off your appointment. Leaving you to just wonder if there was something more they needed or if you're getting your medications. Or you can pay another fee to make another appointment to check everything is good. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND!

As far as convenience, and access to health-care that otherwise may not have been possible, it's great. The 1 star are because there are issues with the app that don't seem to be getting resolved on the therapy side of the app; such as never connecting you with a provider, issues with making an appt and their response time is lacking if they respond at all. From the healthcare side, it's been amazing; from the psychology side, it's really lacking. Lately, I can't even submit a ticket to support.

I used to love this app until the recent update. All of my information is lost, including lab orders that were sent at my last appointment. It's time to get labs done for new prescriptions and nothing is there anymore. I've spent all week trying to reach support. I've sent many messages and spent over 30 minutes on the phone. Even they were stumped, but claimed they expedited the issue and assured me someone would get back to me asap. That was more than 48 hours ago. The app is now garbage.

I have un-installed, reinstalled, tried adding a different form of payment. Tried a different appointment date. It has kicked me out. The message page has kicked me out. It has said internal server error. I have had issues with my previous two visits not allowing me to log in to the appointments, but you sure had no problem charging me $90 each time even though the error was not mine. Now I can't even get an appointment, and even if I can, will I miss that one too because I keep getting booted?

The app frequently needs to be re-downloaded. Customer service is difficult to use. Most of the 'therapists' are social workers and very few have evening availability. One was more into talking about herself, another told me I wasn't worth diagnosing if I won't take medicine, another was too busy typing her notes to have an honest conversation, and yet another was downright rude. If it wasnt the ONLY free option through my insurance, I'd have deleted this LONG ago.

DO NOT RECCOMEND: double charged insurance for a 7 minute appointment, and every time I speak with someone and have it "resolved," the issue pops back up in 2-4 weeks. Reading the reviews, I'm not the only one having these issues. Update: I contacted the email as requested. Confirmed that no money is owed. I still get emails and letters every few weeks.

the app claims to take Tricare/Tricare West, but then bills the wrong Tricare and then I get stuck with nearly $2000 in bills. Any attempts to contact customer service to navigate billing errors have been useless as customer service does not pick up the phone or call back. This app used to be okay for Tricare beneficiarys before 2025 but something changed and now they don't know how to bill Tricare properly so I will no longer be using this app and I would not recommend it to others

Went through the whole process of booking an appointment and waiting for it. Then I attend the appointment and confirm both my NAME BIRTHDAY AND SOCIAL SECURITY only for them to cancel the whole appointment because my last address on file doesn't match????? like come on. Wasted all that time and then they force you to call customer support to try and rebook without being charged. Refund and not using this again.

I haven't had any luck with this platform since they "updated" the app in 2024. Appointments disappeared, dates and times didn't match, last-minute, cancellations- it became so increasingly difficult it was causing more damage to my mental health than good. I finally decided to part ways in January. So naturally, they sent me a bill for an appointment they said I missed, and no one will return my calls for clarification. Save yourself the frustration and get a medical marijuana card instead.

This app along with included health constantly give me issues. Problems connecting in all my recent visits in the past month. Once I was charged while the app couldn't connect. Getting false charges now when it told me I'd pay $0. Overall, this app is not very convenient as it should be. I'd never pay a dime for this app with all the problems I experience. also yes I've reinstalled the app. Before I did that, a lot of my info was bugged too and my activity tab was missing a lot of data

I really love this app, however the last 2 appointments I've had, I have joined the call on time and been met with nothing but a blank white screen for over 15 minutes, shortly followed by an email that says I missed my appointment and will be charged the $99 missed appointment fee. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, cleared the cache, and it's still happening. Please fix this issue. It's not okay to keep charging patients for a technical error.

I had issues w/ an appointment. Since their app was updated, it had logged me off many times. In 03/2025. In the middle of my appointment the screen went black & I could no longer hear the doctor. They charged me, I disputed it with them & they acknowledged their issue. They credited me back, now 2 months later they started emailing me a bill for this. I tried to email them about it, no response, called the # on the email & after a long hold I was disconnected. Horrible, do not ever use them.

Great patient experience with providers. The low rating is for inconsistent connectivity on the Android mobile app versions. Tried going to data only. Tried being on my home wifi, on which I have no issue on other streaming and communication apps. Had to cut short nearly a dozen appointments because it keeps freezing on my or my provider's end.

Customer service is nonexistent. I've had an email thread and multiple chats open for over a month now trying to figure out why they suddenly removed my insurance and started charging full price me for my kid's visits that are needed for medication purposes. I've been charged and still have several outstanding bills for the same appointments (duplicates) and can get absolutely nowhere with the customer service, they just stop responding with no resolution. Use anything else you can but this app

Well this seemed like a great service, until I was literally 60 seconds late for my appointment, then immediately got an email saying I missed my appointment, then 2 mins after that was charged 100$ ....... for being 60 seconds late clicking a button. Yeah I think I'll look for a physical office to visit next time. And no, the chat support (customer service) was not helpful at all.

First time using and it was great! To get quick medical advice at home. Much easier to get appointment than regular provider. I did have problems with tech and password issues when starting on app and had to call support. I would advise setting up account when you feel good so it isn't so frustrating and the app is ready to use. I will use this in the future. Deb M.
