I used to love the app. It had a few small glitches and idiosyncrasies, but worked well for my purposes. After using the app for two years, they closed open access, insisting on a very expensive monthly subscription. I would have been happy to pay for a once off purchase or a much lower annual fee, but they are ridiculous to think that I'll be willing to pay that much every month! I have switched to My Budget Book, which I purchased and I'm very happy with the money I spent there.
Reviews for Dollarbird Pro
← Back to Dollarbird ProI have tried a couple of finance tracking applications and Dollarbird is the best one. The user interface is very intuitive and I love the fact that categories are customizable. Dollarbird is exactly what I needed - it's just perfect. Thank you so much! Edit: switching to paid only with the cheapest subscription being $3.33 / month is an insult to all your users. I wouldn't be using this app if I could afford paying for it. Edit 2: Alright, I'm convinced. I've subscribed.
Love this app - the calendar method is by far the best. However, a feature request: I need the app to be able to view multiple calendars at once (like the web app can). Until then, I'll be using the desktop version. oh, and a request for both platforms: add an ability to run a date search based on account balance range (i.e. show me all days in thr next 3 months that my forcasted balance is less than or equal to $100). keep up the great work, team!
Update: took a star down because of the transaction limit per day (it's like only 3). It's so annoying, specially if I'm traveling and make multiple small purchases. Great for keeping track of my spending. I like that it learns how to sort by category. It's helpful at the end of the month to check what kinds of things take the bulk.
recent update jams expense, income, and balance tab up in the info bar where it can't be selected
The current options to change the income type are set so high until it conflicts with the Pixels toolbar. This makes it impossible to use. Bad UX design.
I pay for the app as I use to love it. Have been using for many yrs. It's great to see how much I need from week to week when budgeting. But I am Unable to get the camera to work in the app. Unable to take photos to attach receipts. Receipt feature doesn't work at all. Please fix I have started trying other apps currently using both this and rocket money. But there are soany I may just move on.
I have been using dollar bird to organize my finances for YEARS and have recommended it to plenty of people in that time, alot of whom have opted for the paid version. Now I'm limited to 3 transactions per day? All because it doesn't seem cost effective for me to pay for more than one calender and user since that's all I need? I get you need to be competitive but why nerf the free version to the point where it's hardly usable?
I love this app. I can be as detailed as I want. I can see where I'll be financially further down the road. I don't like manually tracking every expense so I just update the balance manually every day based on my account balance. Being able to add a bill and just set it to repeat monthly forever is so great. You can also view it in browser.
Ok so this was exactly what is was looking for when I wanted to replace my quicken checkbook program and just use my cellphone to track my bills and income to project my balances. But this app is buggy.. it is duplicating my bills and after I have loaded in recurring transactions it is not keeping them marked as confirmed and that is confusing me on why not?? And with duplication..? I really need to be able to trust the program I use for spending ☹️ bummed !!!!
This app made money very easy to keep track of, especially since I didnt have to link my credit card to anything which I love. It even can remind me at 5 every night to put in transactions. The only thing that is a little glitchy is that even though all of my transactions lined up perfectly with everything online my balance was exactly 15 dollars off. I'm not really sure if its not rounding up change into the total, but other than that perfect.
Used the old version. Liked it but didn't quite satisfy my needs. Was excited for this version but the release got very delayed. Stopped caring and forgot about it. Then came back to it recently. Was happy to have it back. Even got my wife using it. Of course now that it is part of our weekly budgeting habit, it started crashin on my android phone. It's been a few days. I have the latest version. Still like the app but just don't trust that it's reliable long term.
Great app so far for my visual craving brain that needs to see everything on one page. I can now see where all my bills come out and from what paycheck. The only downsidenis that transactions are not entered automatically like some other apps. I also just noticed that the app hasn't been updated since 2018? I hope that doesn't cause any problems down the line because I really like this app.
Love the app, but nothing is more frustrating than opening an app and finding that features that used to be available are behind a pay wall. Before, you could enter unlimited transactions; the app was really great for keeping track of what you may have spent while running errands or paying monthly bills. Now it's a giant pain to have to remember to open the app the next day and finishing entering everything.
EXTREMELY disappointed in their new limits! I've been using DB for YEARS to keep my budget in check and recommend it to everyone. Suddenly, and without warning, they've changed their free model so that users are limited to an unreasonable 3 transactions a day unless you want to pay $10/mo. They don't even offer a lifetime option. How is an app that's supposed to help me control my spending going to start asking me for money? Very, very disappointed in y'all, Dollarbird. I'll be switching apps!
I love this app and was willing to pay for premium access to keep it. However, the newest update has QOL downgrades. I have a lot of categories and the bottom row is cut off in the select categories menu, so I can't see the names of those categories. It's inconvenient that you have to click into the expenses box before entering an expense (before you could just start entering the number). When I confirm a predicted expense it makes a DUPLICATE so I have the erase the predicted one. Unfortunate.
Edit: They limited the transactions to 3 so you can't even set up a monthly budget anymore. The app is basically useless for adding basic bills. it'll take at least week for someone to figure out a budget with rent, electric bill, and more. Old review: I like it. Easy app to see how much money I'll have by the end of the month, and keeps me on track.
This app is a great way to get ahold of your finances. Set up your recurring credits and debits to your account, and schedule any anticipated payments you know about. You'll be able to accurately predict what your account will look like at any given future date. I personally use it to schedule credit card payments, so that I can meet utilization goals in 2020. As a tip, try setting a daily "allowance" transaction for things like food, that way you can factor that estimate into your budget. A+
App is amazing. Perfect if you want to see how much money you are expected to have throughout the month, so you don't come up short between paydays. - Does not sync accounts. - Allows comolete category control. - Shows expected growth of accounts, as long as info in accurate. - Can use seperate calendars and transfers to set up debt elimination plan. Bugs as of 2/13/24 - Does not allow for uploading receipts after information is saved (on Android devices) (Works fine on iPhone)
I've been a user for 5 years, and although I have been a huge advocate of this app, I'm so disappointed they have moved to a paid subscription model. Not to mention, all the updates have been glitchy - such as creating two separate categories for "expense" and "income". It was far simpler previously of toggling the "+" or "-" to indicate the difference. Also, their help center link doesn't work on their website and I can't locate any press release info explaining the shift to subscription.
