Dashing is fine as long as nothing goes wrong...and it will go wrong. If you can muddle through great but if you need "Dasher Support" just turn off your phone and go home. What goes wrong? I was going to list the thing that went wrong just this weekend but I don't have enough characters. Navigation issues are common; stores get behind and can't or won't adjust their estimated times, customers put in wrong information or leave out important details, the app itself glitchs and so much more.

If you actually need help with the app, they will often disconnect before your issue is actually resolved, and are rude to you while you do help. The only good side is that it's a good way to make extra money if you really need to, but when things like gas, car maintenance, and taxes are considered you can likely make better doing other things. Lately I haven't even been able to confirm orders.
Good way to make side money but can be tough depending on where you live. Support usually isn't good either. To make any money you'll need at least 100 deliveries every 30 days to get to their platinum level. The higher levels say you get more priority to higher pay deliveries, but I constantly see $4 as a "high paying offer." Also, the base pay makes no sense and when you call support to ask about it, they never seem to know how it works. Don't do this as a full time job.
I've been a doordash driver for more than 5 years and I almost never give apps a bad review. I just uninstall them and move on. The problem here is that I have brought bugs and other issues to doordash's attention, and they just don't listen. The app rarely gets updated and when it does it is usually some "feature" that finds creative ways to rip us off, but usually isn't an update that would fix frustrating issues or downright malfunctions. How can I work for a company that won't listen to me?
I have tried EVERYTHING to get the issues I'm having fixed. first I can't schedule anything for the area I currently live in, it shows me everything from my old area. second I try to delete a car and it tells me that it can't because it's scheduled for a dash! I haven't dashed in a while (like 2 years) so HOW could it be scheduled?? I am really disappointed in how support will give you the same answers as the chatbot and then disconnect you without helping solve any of your problems!
I've had to uninstall and reinstall this app more than 5 times this month because it's so incredibly unstable. Sometimes it just forgets to run in the background so you HAVE to have it open and be doing nothing else. Other times it will just keep running even though your time has ran out, which tells me that those times where I'm driving around for an hour without getting any offers even though the market is deep red and they're begging people to get on, might actually just be a glitch.
Crashes, glitches, etc. Calling support doesn't seem to help anymore, as they tell me the same thing I already know and/or have done. "Make sure the app is up-to-date. If so, then just uninstall the app and reinstall it. Should be good to go then." As I already don't know that. On top of that, earned pay now takes forever to go into my account. Doordash is messing with some people's livelihoods and that is NOT cool!! All support says is "wait til the end and call support." Seriously??!!
Great way to make money. Better to use a 2nd app for navigation, the navigation interface on the app sometimes have you going the long way to a dropoff, trying to turn down invisible roads, and my favorite, almost driving into a lake! Expect to miss opportunities due to a constantly crashing app and slow loading time. Also enjoy being penalized and your percentages taking a hit due to things out of your personal control, like stores bring out of stock on things. It's a good extra income though.
the app is constantly glitching. the people at the support number are no help. I've had twice in the last week that I've accepted an order, but when I arrived, it's already been picked up or canceled. even with a scheduled dash, there is only earned by offer not earned by time available. the support person tried to tell me it has to do with availability period if there's no availability, you shouldn't be able to dash at all. the support person kept talking over me, trying to mansplain it.
This is the worst app ever. It crashes constantly, ends dashes when the driver is still driving, and driver support is terrible. ETA: I originally wrote this review in 2022 and nothing has changed. I just lost a dash because I changed my start time to 30 minutes later than originally scheduled so I could have a shower and some food and I hit save and it appeared to save but didn't actually save. This has happened to me and my partner multiple times. If I could give 0 stars, I would.
horrible app. so im a platinum, and yesterday I got a double pickup. did the first, but the second was a prescription that the customer had already filled and picked up. the app and support said to fill it anyway, but obviously the techs couldn't, so I had to unassign. app and support both say that it won't affect my scores, but I immediately dropped to silver. I've completed 38 deliveries since then yet my completion rate stays at 94%. support gave me some bs about letting the app update.
In app navigation issue. For several weeks, If I have the directions pulled up when I arrive to the delivery address it will not let me leave the screen to complete the delivery. I have to completely force stop the app and reopen it to make the directions close so I can get to the delivery screen. all black screen when an offer comes through. this happens often. Now there's an issue with the screen ratio. I can't click on options at the very bottom of the screen. infuriating 😡
I honestly do enjoy dashing and it has come in clutch as an additional income for me. There are pros and cons. The cons is why I gave it 4 stars. The cons are that the voice for the dasher GPS only works 15 percent of the time for me, which sucks. Also, when you are late by the pick up time due to then still prepping the order, still docs your percentages. When you try to pick up an order when somewhere is closed, dont get comp pay even tho it says they do.
This app is garbage. I got a notification that I spent 10+ minutes at a dropoff before marking it delivered. This app constantly glitches. Those 2 times that I was at a dropoff longer than needed was because the app got stuck on the navigation mode and I couldn't continue to the next step to deliver the order. Twice, I stood in front of the customer and had to uninstall the app and reinstall it to get it to move to the next step. If you're looking for a side job, Doordash isn't a good option.
7/20/25 constant problems. so ended up being deactivated due to what was unsafe driving/late deliveries. (I have a clean driving record and high ratings to prove otherwise), but due to app issues, it's constantly messing up, and I have a feeling it's a computer bug error. I'd give Zero stars if I could. had to constantly uninstall and reinstall to get the app working due to all the app bugs lately.
UI is better, but have faced more problems in recent update. A recent order wouldn't allow me to enter an item weight over 0, but also wouldn't accept 0. I had two orders on this delivery, both of which were cancelled unexpectingly. I had been in contact with both customers so it seems unlikely they both cancelled at the very same. The virtual assistant also Unassigned the wrong order, forcing me to return the items I had just finished shopping for. The support agents are very helpful though.
Stop this crazy new point system. No one I've talked to likes it. We're bouncing around all the levels. Why in the #(%÷ do we get dinged for late pick ups when it's the restaurant that doesn't have the order ready? I mark order still being prepared or not started every time and I still get late pick ups! We have no control over the restaurants. App glitches so much its hard to complete orders.
New update constantly crashes and freezes. I'll get an order but it doesn't alert me nor send a text, and it isn't a signal problem. so I miss offers because I never know I have them. we should also have the option to retrieve missed orders for Platinum users, essentially giving us an extra 30 seconds after the first missed window. update: The newest update doesn't allow you to check your card balance while you're on a dash, this wasn't a problem before because the account was in another app
Every time they update the app they make it worse. I used to be able to dash whenever I want, as long as I wanted. On my first dash I made over 50 dollars in just two hours. Now you can't dash whenever you want. 9 times out of 10 you HAVE to schedule, and even when you do the options are extremely limited now. Only let me dash for 30 minutes today, I have been sitting in my car for 15 minutes and have gotten zero deliveries despite my area being busy. They have completely ruined this app.
Making this 1 star until the new ratings system is replaced with something better. There is no buffer for red lights, detours, roadwork, accidents, app glitches or hard to find shopping items. I've been platinum for 2 years, but lost it in the new system. My on time ratings went from 85 to 60. The only thing that changed was the new rating system. I stopped shop and deliver because of it too. As a top dasher, I make more money dashing than I do as a full-time residential manager.
