Reviews for EveryDollar: Budget Management

I used the full version last year (2024) and loved it. The app is great for synchronizing your bank for automatic transaction uploading and easy tracking. Unfortunately, not all banks are supported. I opened a new back account and attempted several times to sync to this app, it did not work. I contacted support and was told my bank was not currently supported and to upload my transactions manually. I wouldn't have paid $100 just to have to use the free version's manual uploading. Disappointed.

I really wish I didn't pay for the app. it really could be a useful tool if it actually worked consistently. I gave it 2 stars since as of lately, transactions aren't updating even after refreshing. Also, my accounts continue to get disconnected. I removed them to reset them up just for them to not update the transactions. if they could fix this, it would be a very helpful tool.

It makes categorizing expenses on a daily basis really easy. It used to be a dreaded task once a month to spend hours categorizing each expense for the month. Now it's just a minute or 2 every morning. It's part of my morning routine. I can remember what/why I spent yesterday, but waiting till the end of the month . . . not so much.

Have been using the free version for a few months to determine if it's something I'd like to purchase. Based on performance, I'll have to pass. Constant password resets are mandatory. Now everything I've input is gone, and the free version is not an option. Should have read the other reviews before wasting my time.

I like the app and its concept, and the lessons have been invaluable. The delayed transaction sync is challenging. I'm also getting notifications for lessons, and when I go into the app. No lessons are pending, or I get a push notification that leads me to a lesson that I have done numerous times. It repeats the same lesson about choosing the right insurance.

They recently changed the app so you open up to a dashboard of "goals" instead of your budget. The entire reason my husband and I liked using this app was because it was easy and quick access to the budget so we can take one glace and be good. Tbh I don't want goals here, I'm good. I just want to have a budget. I'll probably switch to something else.

I paid for the premium version and the transactions come multiple times. The transaction feature doesn't work the way it should. I shouldn't receive the same transactions at the end of the month as I did in the beginning, it should only show up once. And no, im not talking about paying the credit card and seeing a transaction from my bank and then again my credit card bank. I'm talking about it being duplicated.

I used to be able to open the app and log a transaction in the time that it now takes to just open the app. Text fields no longer auto select appropriately, the button to track a new transaction is in a location that takes longer to reach and is smaller (the most common action to do in the app), and the subscription ads are now more prominent. I have not found a single feature of the most recent update that improved the user experience, just a plethora of annoyances and wasted time.

Not only is this app overly complex and difficult to navigate, but it logs me out of my connected banking institution every time which makes the app useless. It also periodically logs me out of my account entirely and when I enter the correct login credentials, it doesn't recognize them. Update: The premium subscription is non refundable after 30 days of purchase, even if you have account or service interruptions. AVOID this app. $79.99 per year for something that doesn't even work.

Great for tracking and budgeting. The only issue is having to manually input each monthly transaction in every month instead of them rolling over from the following month. I forgot to mention I do have the premium version as well. Which would give the option to be able to delete or keep them. There could also be a separate feature for debt snowball alone that could help a bunch as well.

The only reason I still use it is because it has years of my data on it and I dont want to restart with a new budgeting app. You can't plan for annual expenses on it. You can't even budget their subscription lol. when you click on the expense, there's a scheduling tab. it is grayed out. you cannot change it from monthly, semi-annually, or annually. if you want to budget an annual expense then it will appear like any other monthly expense.

Honestly, this App doesn't do nothing more than MS Excel. I paid for the yearly subscription and it was a waste of money, I almost NEVER touch it now. Every single month, you have to "set" your budget. Yes, you heard that, it's NOT automatic like other apps. On top of that, you have to place each transaction into their own tabs, AGAIN, NOT automatic. It's much easier to just use excel....

I have always kept a budget. This is by far the best. Excellent for tracking expenses. Allows special categories such as child/pet care. Encourages saving. The basic can be time-consuming for data entry but I am a "numbers nerd" so I don't mind. I believe there is an upgrade that connects to your credit card/bank account which may reduce data entry time. With the basic when I shop Costco I manually enter grocery/household supplies/healthcare items. Overall very easy to use. I highly recommend

I've been using this app for several years, and it's served my husband and I well. I have noticed, recently, that many of our expenses have been populating as "income," and I've had to manually reverse it on my end. It's super frustrating, and I'm double checking my account to make sure it's not pulling something incorrectly, but that's not the case. They are actual expenses but appear as income on the app. Everything is updated, so I'm unsure why this continues to occur.

This app is great. Easy to use, works well, and I love that it makes it easy to just drop expenses into the category you desire. The only thing I would like to have is an option for subtotal lines for each section. Subtotal category were in the total money makeover and have always been part of our budget. Not having them here is a little frustrating.

Appreciate this app very much! Huge benefits to budgeting & easy to use. Highly recommend to anyone trying to track their spending & budget wisely. However, it often freezes & glitches. Sometimes does not load all the transactions properly. Will freeze after using for several minutes, won't refresh, & will have to close & re-open. Fixing these bugs for Android would be great!

Logging in is annoying for this app. It seems like I have to reset my password almost every time I log in. It also deleted my financial accounts that were linked, so I'm starting from ground zero again. I really want to like this app. Once I'm in the app it's not bad, but getting logged into the app is super annoying. Every. Single. Time. Can you make logging in by a fingerprint available?

I can appreciate that it's designed to track money comming in & out. But when there's no way to log a transfer between accounts, the auto updating feature tracks every transfer as a duplicate transaction, which inflates both income & expenses, & paying off debt is clunky, too. You have to either log the payment from bank account as an expense, then log the payment into the debt as income to make the debt totals work. That further inflates income & expenses, which severely limits it's usefulness.

The longer I use it the less I like it. You should NOT need to fight with the formatting of an app to get it to do what you need. For example, I wanted to move my gas budget from the "spending" to the "bills" section. It doesn't let you. Instead it DELETED all prior months gas transactions when I did it for my current month. It's getting worse and worse. They use excuses when things don't work but they're right there to heavily promote whatever new product/service will make them more $$$.

At first the app was an interesting alternative to the spreadsheet method I've been using. But once I realized it pretty much requires foreknowledge of monthly earnings, which, in my case are unpredictable, It became harder to calculate expenses. Also, there's no way to regroup expenses by due dates, which I can in Excel. even holding my finger on an item until it can be moved to re-order them only lasts until I open something to add activity, as soon as I return, the list resets itself.
