Reviews for FictionMe: Stories & Novels

← Back to FictionMe: Stories & Novels

This is basically the same as most other reading apps where you have to buy coins, if you want to actually read more than a few chapters a day. A few things I don't like is: 1. There's no place you can comment and interact with other readers & share your views on the current book you're reading. 2. There multiple spelling errors. For example: this one book I'm currently reading keeps using LOUNGE for LUNG, VULVA for VÖLVA, U for I, the list goes on and on.

This app IS NOT FREE!!! I liked the stories. But once you've read half of the chapters, coins are required to finish the rest. Coins apparently have to be bought with real money. So I guess I won't be finishing the remainder of the story. Also, when I went back to read reviews, most were 1-2 stars. The 5 star reviews seem to be from people that haven't hit the halfway point in the book yet.

The books are good, the app is okay. This is more for people who can afford to spend $30 on one book. The book im reading would cost almost 5000 coins to unlock every chapter. 5000 coins is $30. I dont even spend that much on books from the bookstores. You get free coins daily, but not enough to unlock one chapter. You get daily reading rewards, but if you don't have enough coins to unlock the chapters, you can't earn them. I think I'll stick with My Passion. Better app for people with budgets.

Books are good but ad lies, you only get half of a book for free (1 hr unlock), then have to spend money for 2nd half of a book. Very upsetting. Also if you buy coins to save for later, that doesn't work cuz 1 hrs unlock doesn't work. Spent money cuz coin weekend deal looked good. Was going to save them for 2nd half but ended up having to use them all before unlock avaliable again. Wouldn't recommend this app unless your planning to pay.

At first, I was able to read some of a book with watching commercials, and some of the time buying coins to read. Watching commercials stopped after I bought a fair number of coins and used them. You also get bonuses for different reasons, and they are supposed to be usable to unlock chapters, but that stopped as well. If you want to pay real money only to read a book that will cost more than any kindle download, then this is the app for you!

Too short chapters and too expensive. I like to read and I read fast. The chapters are way to short. Therefore waiting and hour to read the next one is ridiculous. The price for a short chapter is also ridiculous. If you don't re-read the prior chapter, you then have to wait another hour. For the price I paid for those coins, I could only read a few chapters. It would easier to just buy a book.

The books are amazing. I don't like that it gets halfway thru and you can't finish a book. I'm also confused on the plus side of it. I've paid for the extras but you only get 1000 coins a month?! Plus I just renewed mine and I didn't get anything at all so 5.99 wasted for what? Now I can't even get a refund because you can't get a hold of anyone in the support team. Definitely disappointed

Stories are still great & some need re-editing, but there's a new issue. Since the update to the app itself, that has the page turn scroll sideways, the very bottom off thd stories can't be read. Sometimes it's vital to the stories themselves. I've tried changing settings, tapping on the screen to clear the phones lower buttons, etc.

I purchased the app expecting to be able to read a story with a subscription. What they don't tell you is how insanely many credits a single story is! I got a "subscription" of 1000 credits.... it did not even get me 1/4 of the was through a story..... I don't mind paying for content, but that is crazy! Very misleading. Buyer Beware..... it is a total scam.

If "pay to play" were a reading app, it would absolutely be this one, and it's not worth the money you'd put in thanks to chapters being about ten seconds long since the app limits authors on character usage and chapter length. There's also no way to turn off the app automatically using your coins to open the next chapter and just wait the hour in between chapters to bank your coins. There's way better options out there, often with the exact same stories, better editing and less expensive!

Loved the app until I realized that after you read half the book, you no longer unlock a chapter after an hour. You have to pay with coins. The price for the rest of the book takes 4,000+ coins which = $50?! Insane. You can check in daily to earn coins or complete other tasks to unlock coins but it still takes awhile to earn enough to continue reading.

Lots of good books, BUT the option to watch ads to let you read the next chapter isn't working properly. 3 ads are supposed to give you access. I have watched probably 10 ads to get the counter from 1/3 to 2/3, and nothing happens. Will use bonus points and my leftover coins, and then this app will be deleted for sure. The subscription I had was already canceled as well.

Don't waste your money. Kindle and an annual subscription to Galatea are better options by far. Beyond disappointing. I have multiple reading apps as an avid reader and have been here fora significant time. This app was not the best but tolerable and then they updated and it turned to trash. Many of the books here are on other sites so I'm out. I can read them for less somewhere else and if I can't I'll find a new novel better written and not $100 plus a piece.

After every chapter, you have to wait an hour to read another. But then you get halfway through a book and are suddenly required to PAY to continue reading and can still only read a chapter an hour. If I'm going to pay, I certainly don't expect to have to wait an hour to read. This has happened with three books, so no, it's not a fluke that it lets you read half of it and then cuts you off unless you're planning on shelling out cash. No thanks. Not to mention the misspellings and grammar errors.

although the ads are too intrusive, I have been ripped off three times by these reading apps and their offers of discounted subscriptions that seem to be a means of accessing credit card info in order to increase the charges so I have downloaded my last app offering free reading material that starts out offering another chapter if you watch an ad only to get into the story and find the only means of completing the story is subscribing. the bait and switch tactics do mot inspire confidence.

I have canceled my subscription because when I went to get a new password for my app. you not only stole the 5700 credits I had but refused to help me reopen the app. I had to open a new app but will never trust your so called contact us again. I can get stories I read for free so why pay for them. I was saving the credits so I could read 3 stories all the way thru instead of daily. What a LIE THAT TURNED OUT TO BE. FOR THOSE WHO READ THESE REVIEW BE WARNED!!!!!!!!

As much as I love the stories, I had to save up coins for weeks to only get halfway through a story. The cost for coins to be able to continue is ridiculous. Stories are made to be enjoyed, not charged for when it's either buy them or food for the month. Yes, I can wait for an hour to read the next chapter, but when you're at an important part, waiting is too hard.

Ad said it was free. It is free if you only want to read a chapter per hour. The rewards you can earn for free only add an additional chapter or two, then it's back to a chapter per hour. Other books I'm reading on other websites where you only need to watch an ad to unlock the next chapter. Two other websites allow you to watch several ads to build up coin and then open the next chapter with coins or an ad. I'm no longer interested in only reading a chapter per hour!!! Goodbye!!

1. Non-responsive "customer service." 2. Tickets earned by watching ads at check-in expire in 5 days or so. Free 🎟 expiring is fair; but not those you've suffered through ads to earn. 3. Book selection is good; but same books can be found on other apps that are more responsive to and appreciative of their readers.

The story I was reading was really good! So much so that I was more than willing to wait an hour for each chapter and hit the bonuses. However, when the free chapters end and I need to wait over a day to read one chapter, coupled with more ads that pop up in my face before I read said chapter, it's just not worth it. Am I willing to watch ads to unlock the next chapter though instead of wait? If it had the option, absolutely.
