I bought a Bible to use with app, after read the qr code on bible, I can't create account. The app still processing and never finish. After try a lot, error, error and error, says that is already registered. But never login, still running and I can't access the account. Still throwing error... And nothing. Update 1: after try a lot, with a lot of errors, I managed to login. But now I can't create any reading plan. Everything I'm trying it's being painful.
Reviews for Filament Bible
← Back to Filament BibleWhy do I have so much trouble logging in every day. I select the Filament app, and all I get is a blank page. It takes 20 minutes to go through the process to get re-established. Love the app when I can use it, but needs to be a better way to use it.
This has been a tremendous help with my everyday walk with Jesus Christ. The stories feel as if they're more alive in my life now than ever. With the filament I get to see little skits play out to explain the verses to me better. I highly recommend getting the Tyndale filament Bible whether it's the KJV or The Living Bible. I have both and they work extremely well together. I feel that anyone that wants to have a deeper meaning with God needs to have The Living translation next to the KJV.
I loved this app for 3 months, but now it won't open each day. I either have to close it 3 or 4 times, or wait several hours and try it again. It has been frustrating to use it as a part of my daily devotions. No one should count on this as their only Scriptural source.
Fantastic Bible Companion App! Overall, this is a beautifully designed and very user-friendly app. It’s a great companion to any Bible, with helpful features that make engaging with Scripture easy and meaningful. My only suggestion is to improve the navigation when I enter a section like Study, there doesn’t seem to be a way to return to the main menu to choose other options like Reflect or See.
I love the idea of an app that adds context and additional notes for Bible study, it was one of the reasons I purchased the Every Woman's Bible. But unfortunately I haven't even made it past the "You've made it, turn to page 1274" screen. I've tried closing the app and restarting but the app completely freezes at the same place and won't go any further. Disappointed.
Very Frustrating! It seems every ten minutes the app stops working and says it's offline. Spending time with the Lord is precious and this app is preventing that. I love the design of the app/Bible combo but it's useless. I'm VERY disappointed seeing as though I purchased a specific Bible in order to use all it entails.
I am so sick and tired of following along with my new Bible and the app and all of a sudden it goes offline! When it goes offline Then it starts from the very beginning of what I just read and it could be a couple chapters in already. This is very, VERY frustrating and highly intrusive!!!! When happens, I have to go to another app and finish my Bible reading and it really interrupts my time with GOD! Is there anything you can do about this situation????? Thank you kindly for your time.
App won't work anymore. Just spins and spins. Have un-installed and reinstalled. Won't let me reset password. Won't let me reregister. Useless. Was more than halfway through a reading plan that is now unaccessible. Edit: I finally got it to let me log back in, and now it just crashes. Won't load anything.
After a rough start with the app. I couldn't get it to work at first. I contacted customer service and they helped me get the app working. I'm really enjoying the app and my Bible. I love that I can study the Word or I can spend time in prayer with the reflect option. I can watch videos and listen to music related to what I'm reading, which is very nice. I highly recommend the filament Bible and app. Planning on buying some for people in my family.
App is finicky. I love the idea of it, as I'm dyslexic and have trouble reading so the app reading to me is such an amazing concept. However I wish they fixed the bugs in the app. It often jumps around, after listening for a while it decides to go offline and stops working then I have to close it out and log back in which then loses my spot. Also if I close out the app completely it will continue playing and you can't pause it. I wish these bugs would get fixed.
It's a nice app and full of useful study notes and supplemental materials. If you're wanting to look at some of the interactive maps and videos, a tablet is a better option than a phone. But this app persistently and consistently crashes on my relatively new Samsung tablet. I reached out to the Filament team via email last week and have not yet received a reply. I feel that this companion app should be rock-solid and dependable, given that it is something one pays for when purchasing the book.
I love this app. Sometimes I have trouble sounding words out, so the audio part helps. However, it constantly says not available offline or something of that, but I am at home with wifi. I have to turn the wifi on my phone off to listen to it, then I forget to turn it back on and I waste data and battery. If this is fixed, I'll change my review. I'm using a note20 ultra.
It reads easily, but I do have one issue. I'd like to be able to order a companion book that has all the footnotes, themes, people/places, introductions in written form. Its hard to switch between them and the Bible as you're reading. I've been creating my own handwritten copy. Plus you can't copy text so that I can put it in other things.
I really dislike all the "cp. Note on blah in verse x:y" and then you either have to physically flip or digitally flip to those pages in the app. You would think if there are cross reference notes on a subject you could hyperlink in the app to it, or better yet pop open a floating frame of that note. Otherwise it's kind of a gimmicky concept. Prefer the NLT Illustrated Study Bible (which is what these notes are from) but that one is just to bulky to take on flights while I travel for business.
I really enjoy using this app. It helps me to be more involved in Bible Studies. When listening to the Bible I enjoy the narration, but at times it will stop reading or go back to the beginning without finishing to the end when I'm doing the Bible study 100 days, or start reading in the middle of the night or in a meeting. Crazy!! I went out and bought a King James Version filament but there is no option for audio, bummer!
Overall an interesting use of technology with a rich set of study aids. The videos seem targeted to all age ranges just like the devotionals. It's great that all of the digital content is rapidly accessible by scanning the page icon next to each page number. It's tricky to get the phone in the correct position and move it in/out to match the size of the icon on the page. What happens when you can't be connected to the Internet? Maps need to scale bigger when there are many close points.
The app itself is great, but it's missing one key feature which would be having links to itself within the app. If it's going to say "see this note" or "see this verse" or something like that, we need to have a link we can tap on that can take us directly there to see how it relates to the current verse we are trying to understand more. With a "see previous" button that allows us go right back to where we initially were for our study.
I really love the audio capabilities of this app. I have enjoyed the narrator and being able to read through the Bible in a year in a way that maximizes my time. My only problem with this is that the audio version often repeats sections after playing them, or will skip a section, and for the past 3 days I haven't even been able to get my readings to load.
Amazing Bible study tools! For those who had issues with getting camera to work with teading the page number an easier way is to open the app. and above the name of the book, for example, Genesis 3-5, it will have above that "pg 4-6". You can touch and hold for a second and release and it brings up a key pad to put in the page number manually. Much quicker and less frustrating than trying to scan page number with phone camera. Hope this helps other.
