So here's my take on FloraQuest: Carolinas, Georgia. I've tested a bunch of plant ID apps and this one's pretty solid. The database covers a ton of species and the offline guide is super handy. The interface is easy to use and the plant information is detailed. But it does have a few issues - the ads can get old after a while and some of the advanced features aren't super intuitive. Overall though, if you're into nature and botany in that region, this is a pretty good option.

Description

Been using FloraQuest: Carolinas, Georgia for a couple months now. It’s basically a plant identification app that covers over 5,800 wildflowers, trees, and other plants in those 3 states. Pretty solid if you’re into botany and nature stuff.

Here’s what you can do – you can use the built-in plant keys and photos to identify plants you come across. There’s also an offline plant guide so you don’t need internet. And the app’s got a ‘Botanical Explorer’ feature that helps you find cool plant sites in the region. Took me a while to figure some of that out but it’s all pretty useful.

Look, if you’re into plants and the outdoors, you’ll probably like this app. It’s not perfect – the ads can get a little annoying if you don’t pay – but overall it does the job. Worth checking out if you spend time hiking or gardening in the Carolinas and Georgia.

I initially hesitated due to the cost, but now I realize this is like a better version of two or more field guides that would cost at least that each....

A really well thought out app. As complete as any reference you can find for Georgia and the Carolinas.
