not enough editing capabilities, wants to catagorize everything into breakfast lunch dinner etc. I don't eat like that. can't use the app unless you pay upfront.... I prefer to use an app 1st, see if I like it, before paying for it. Not enough food options. for example, I ate a whole banana (including the peel), there's nothing listed for this. Uninstalling app
Reviews for Foodvisor - Calorie Counter
← Back to Foodvisor - Calorie Counterused to be a decent free versions of a calorie counter. It's not as good as others ive used. I originally swapped to it when my favorite one stopped supporting connection to Google fit, but now theyve got ads popping up all the time. I would assume if you get the paid version its still a great app, but if you're planning on sticking with the free version youre better off with something else.
Worked fine for a while, if the ads weren't so intrusive I'd be fine with them. at first it only gave me watchable ads which is fine, whatever. But now almost every ad it gives me is one of those playable game ones, and they don't ever stop or give a skip button, and they disable the back button on my phone. I'm quite literally forced to just be playing a game forever instead of logging my food.
Amazing app. Simple to use so you don't have to agonize over food entries. I hit my goals exactly the way I hoped, and now I have a completely new understanding of how and what foods impact my overall health and weight! This app kept me curious about my food and put me in control of how I eat. I would not have been able to make the personal adjustments I needed to without such an effective tool. Really fantastic interface. Developers: please add the function to copy recipes! Thank you!!
It's an OK app. I like that it breaks down macros, but I can't edit a food (like move it from breakfast to snack), and it doesn't tell you why a food is just "ok" (why is a protein shake just "ok", or what's wrong with my protein bar?). I would love for it to sync with fitbit, too - it's a pain to manually add activity, and then it doesn't even factor those burned calories into your daily allowance (not a huge deal, but it would be nice).
Good app all around for my second calorie counter app. For how expensive the year subscription is, a lot of the features need to be better. Needs more connected apps other than Google fit, because it sucks. My fitbit is way more accurate. Customizing portions or adding foods from scratch could be more user-friendly. Recipes in the app have numerous spelling errors that confuse what ingredients to use and their measurements. If changes are made and features upgraded, this app could be top tier!
UPDATE: 1 month in and I'm down 10 lbs! Are you kidding me?! This app is nothing short of amazing. I'm a working mom of 2 with very little time to fuss with documenting my calories. But this app is not only incredibly inexpensive ($3/mo) but also very practical and user friendly. It integrates so easily into my routine and helps me understand how to keep consistent and see my progress along the way. Couldn't recommend it enough!
Thi app works pretty well for what you want it for, eas to track food and meals and activities. Just a few nitpicks, and I'm leaving in a review and hopes that customer service will send this to the developers. The free version has ads, but there's definitely a handful that have no way to exit out of the ad. You have to watch an ad after you log every single meal, so it is getting to be a bit much with the amount of ads and not being able to exit them. Also please sync with strava
Easy to use app that has really opened my eyes on the amount of calories I was consuming before I started. I was hitting a wall in my weight loss goals and now the lbs are going fast. The hardest/worst part of this app is adding in home made meals and wild game meals. You kind of just have to guess. If there was an easy way to add in all of the ingredients used into a meal and then break it down into portion sizes, that would be great for people like me who meal prep for the week.
Reduced to 1 star from previous review. Foodvisor is now worse than ever with "updates". Weght no longer displays decimal values for lbs, and math computations are still deficient and often inaccurate. Some entered values are not retained correctly. Many barcode scans are totally wrong. The errant data has yet to be revised with submitted corrections. Also, the color schemes of white text on light colors result in insufficient contrast for actual reading.
The best, easiest, and intuitive app. I have used many food tracking apps from Noom, Weight Watchers, MyFitnessPal, and EatLove. As a busy mom, finding time to eat let alone track was my biggest obstacle. I can just take a picture or use voice audio. Will update when I've given the app and program a good go. food database/logging update: I wish there was the option to input your own recipes or food items like EatLove by uploading screenshots.
The food scanner is not useful. Sometimes it just stares at your plate and does nothing. If it does get a result, it is only 1 thing at a time on your plate, and even then the results aren't always accurate because these food databases have a lot of inaccurate information. I found it to be very frustrating and ultimately unusable. This is the one feature that I think is most important on these apps and developers should prioritize.
I like the food diary. It's fast and easy to add food which makes it much more likely I'll use it. I also like the daily classes, although they are a tad longer than suggested, they're nice. However I paid extra for the meal plans and the plans they gave me were a tad insane? I added up all the groceries I would need and it came out to $394.22 for ONE WEEK. Which was really funny, but not sustainable. Also they said their was a community of some sort, haven't seen one yet.
Works great for calorie tracking. Food is usually easy to find by bar code scan or search. Photographic search is about 50/50, but good for what it is. I wish there was a more robust way to manage favorites and build recipes for later. It's just a flat list. You can't go back to edit favorites. You have to add it as a meal, make your changes, save it as a new version, and then delete the old one. Favorites show up in chronological order only.
Update: This app has a LOT of nutrition info - LOVE! Nice app for tracking daily calorie intake, but you can not edit the amounts you've eaten. This app only allows you add the portion from app. If you eat more or less than the designated app portion you can not log it., so you are not keeping track of YOUR actual food intake. It's GOOD/ helpful to see when you've eaten too much or if you need to add more of a food to your diet to get healthier benefits from it.
I'm sure it's fine for some people, but it doesn't have enough customization for me. I have health conditions with a very specific diet, so it's annoying to see the app say "be careful" with a food that is actually very good for me. I see a nutritionist and have my own plan, so I wish I could fully customize my goals to what I need to track instead of the app's default tracking mode. Diets are not one-size-fits-all.
I quit smoking a few months ago and went on a health journey. This app has been awesome, its help me learn and get a better understanding of what my body needs daily. Also seeing how many calories I consumed daily was huge it also helped me make necessary changes. Im 25 pounds down and living an overall healthier lifestyle. This app has been extremely helpful, its easy to use and understand.
Only been using a few days, and so far I really like it! I've used calorie-counting apps before but this one is probably the easiest and most encouraging to navigate. A couple critiques... 1) I wish it let us add recipes more easily. So far adding individual ingredients to each meal seems to be the only accurate method. 2) I wish it distinguished between good fats & cholesterol vs. bad ones.
I've only been on the free version, but absolutely love the features it gives to track and record food. only thing to be careful with is the community input on items. a jr frosty at Wendy's is not 0 calories xD ---edit--- New update of the app added ads to the free version. I understand it's to help them keep the service, but it's jarring for a silent application to play videos with sounds automatically as soon as an ad pops up. and the "limited time discount" is the same offer from day 1-256
This app has the potential to be way better, but it's lacking in foods & fitness tracker connections. As far as foods, I've found several of the same, & 1 will be good for you, and the other isn't. I'll walk for miles, & it gets logged as a bike ride... Also, if you do other workouts, you can't specify your calorie burn. It will automatically do it. The timing is in increments of 5s which is annoying because I've burned way more in 30 minutes than what is suggested. Overall... it'just meh.
