Reviews for Happier Meditation

← Back to Happier Meditation

I am currently reading through the Meditation for Fidgety Skeptics book, and have been enjoying it quite a bit, but was still having a hard time actually taking the first steps to meditate - but the guided meditations through the app, as well as the little tidbits by the books author are very helpful. I'm not in a place right now where I can afford to drop $100 on a subscription service all at once, but will be coming back to the app in a few months when I have a little more disposable income.

recently purchased the app after completing the Ted Lasso Challenge. I enjoyed the course, and I freqently listen to the podcast, so I decided to subscribe. I'm rating it four stars instead of five, because I think it would be better to have the option to favorite an entire course rather than individual sessions within a course. For now, I'll favorite the first session in a course for those I want to take in the future.

I've tried Headspace & Insight Timer and never liked them enough to purchase a subscription. With this app, I knew the first day I used it that it was perfect for me. It not only has courses that teach you how to further your practice and learn about the mind but it also has an unguided timer so you can take everything you learn and practice on your own. I highly recommend this app for all "levels" of meditators. Dan and his team truly have thought of everything! PS - the podcast is awesome too!

App doesn't seem to work anymore. It doesn't remember my login and forces me to go thru the create new account workflow every time, asking me questions I don't want to answer. For example I don't want reminders to meditate. It's been nothing but trouble since renewing my subscription. Grrrr. Edit: Several uninstalls/reinstalls later + a meditation session, I'm back in the app, feeling calmer, more rational.

Great information and follow up to the book. Having read the book and trying meditation in the past I like the explanation part before each medication as it gives you something to focus on during the meditation. Also, different coaches help appeal to a wider audience rather then listening to the same voices over and over. Also, I like the 'focused', like sleep and anxiety related meditations as well.

I only had a 7 day free trial. I think the overall setup of the app is great and the seven day Basics I course is also great. My only complaint is that the free trial offer should be for thirty days, which would give the user more time to determine if they want to pay the whole annual fee, especially since there doesn't seem to be an option to pay month by month.

I have been a ten percent app user for a year and a half. Having used several other subscription meditation apps, I can tell you that what I like about this one is the ease of finding what you want, the various ways to interact with the content (watching or just listening), the diversity of teachers. As a physician, I also appreciated the free access during the pandemic for health care workers, including medical students (who are often overlooked, but could use the financial break the most).

As a very experienced meditator, I was looking for something to help me get back into my practice. I did the 7 day trial. Like the content and the fact that it has various subjects and "levels," although maybe a bit lacking on the deeper level meditations. Having said that, I think the price is WAY TOO STEEP - for information and practices that are very widely available, and should be made accessible. Too much of a money grab for my tastes 👎

I was never one for meditation, so my rating is more for the app itself as I don't have anything to compare the actual meditation to, this app is amazing! Easy to use, set reminders, and track your journey. I'm on a temp trial so I can't speak for price but when it comes time I am going to pay, the benefits are worth the money to me and plus.....I would spend the money on something less helpful anyway so win win!! Update: purchased the subscription and if I could rate higher than 5 I would.

Wonderful instructors, excellent content. As a user that started after listening to Meditation for Fidgety Skeptics, I was initially unsure about other instructors besides Jeff. I can firmly say there was nothing to worry about - all the instructors are very engaging! I do wish there was a way to find saved meditations more easily, and set a few favs on a home screen, but otherwise the app is very solid and easy to use.

I've been using Ten Percent Happier since 2020. The app grows with you. As my meditation practice has evolved, it's been easy to find a single session, course, or challenge to meet me where I'm at. App is easy to use, has never crashed on me, and the sessions are thoughtfully curated into different topics and themes. I also like all of the meditation teachers on the app.

It touches on various subjects including stress, fears, anxieties, and stepping into new experiences. However, some of the meditations seem like they didn't provide the full scope of the meditation but instead a sample. Perhaps if they had Moreno n depth versions of everyediyation one could choose to do a deep dive or simply dip our perverbial toes in the water. Also, because of the overwhelming stress of the pandemic, their should be a newofule dealing with this kind of stress.

I absolutely adore 10% Happier. I've personally used Calm, Headspace, Insight Timer, and have tried to get away from guided meditations all together before stumbling across the 10% Happier podcast. For whatever reason, this time it stuck. I've been using the apl for a bit over 2 months and have meditated almost every day. In conjunction with the podcast and reading the book, things are just starting to make sense! Highly recommend this app

I use this EVERY day. Such a great support for wellness. Love the way the meditations are organized. Many options but not confusing to use. Easy access to favorites and recently used meditations in 11/22 update (well done!). These are practical meditations guided by a diverse group of coaches. I also make use of the unguided timer. 100% worth the cost.

Volumes of guided meditation practice. Something for everyone. Today I have over 700 Mindful Days and have yet to listen to all the available sessions. The many teachers and topics on ThePercent always keeps it interesting. Have a question - the available Coaches are there to assist. I would highly recommend giving TenPercent a try. Only about 15 minutes a day, but one minute works, too. And don't forget to try Dan's Podcast. Everything is well worth it. It's like meditating with friends.

Love the content. Love the professionalism of the teachers and the variety of voices and perspectives. The titles of meditations would be more helpful if they were more specific - sometimes the meditations seem mis-titled. Some links are incorrect and take me to a different item. The "View Collection" button on the home page doesn't work at all. But overall, the high quality content wins out. :) Would like to see app compatibility with Android Auto.

Updated Feb. 23... I have to take a star off, which I hate doing. I love the app and with the new upgrade, I was hoping for more compatibility with podcasts for commuters. That still hasn't happened and now I can't download to listen on my commute, which means I'm using data. I'm hoping this option comes back quickly! Updated July 19, 2023 Original review: Fabulous content, interface could be improved, especially for those that commute. Would love to see this compatible with Android Auto.

I use this app off and on depending on stresses in life. I should be disciplined enough to do it more often. I can definitely feel the difference when I have not been meditating in terms of how much or often things get to me. The app is well structured, intuitive to navigate, and has a host of programs/meditations that help with practicing mindfulness across the spectrum of life's circumstances. I appreciate the different session lengths...it helps us find ones the kids will do.

5/2/25 update: I'm not really happy with the new format. Not easy to navigate and It seems like it's all focused on "Shorts" where I prefer "Longs". 2021:Highly skilled teachers! This app has really helped move my practice forward. I would only ask that in the daily meditations, there was less talking and more silent time to practice what is being taught

Impressive selection of topics. Clear, helpful and easy to do. The meditations can be done at home, or on a break. It's a great way to slow my mind, and be calm, positive. Best app I have used, relaxing too. I believe the variety of teachers is impressive and I highly recommend using it everyday.
