terrible change to UI, impossible to view all shifts efficiently, and littered with prompts and advertising "features" I just need to know schedule, not get paid through the scheduling app. if I didn't have to have this for my job, I would absolutely never think about it a single second. Also opening the app on this new update has a 30% chance of freezing my phones system.

For pay, it's not accurate for your actual pay. The Cash Out option claims no charges, but there's a $5 fee to use it same day. It also uses a 3rd party, so not every bank allows that.
Does not send notifications of any sort most of the time, regardless of permissions, phone type, or phone carrier. Happening with all 32 of my employees. Uninstalling and reinstalling only fixes the issues for a day or so, and it's annoying to keep reminding 32 other people to do a reinstall. Good for scheduling and messaging (when the app actually works).
We've been using the free version of this app for a couple of years now and it's been great to schedule student workers in our small, rural university library. Unfortunately, after this last update, my android phone is no longer compatible. as a supervisor who is basically on call, I have to be able to message people via my phone during my off hours. there aren't many great alternatives out there, but I might have to start looking for one and I'm pretty bummed about it.
This is the worst app I wish my employer wasn't using it. Twice I've clicked for cash advancement, and it wouldn't let me. The app said it was on their end. When I spoke with customer service they only give rhetorical answers that's scripted. I they said I didn't make enough to pull out but I did. The app wouldn't let me get to the screen if I couldn't get part of my check early in advance. They deleted all correspondence from my email. I thought this only happene in movies. I didn't delete it
Decent workforce app. Relatively user friendly and straightforward. Cash out doesn't work with PayPal, which is disappointing.. Other than that, I've encountered no issues. Definitely WAY better than UKG. until it broke. now I cannot sign in, because I can't remember my password And regardless of how fast I put in the reset code it tells me it's already used
False Advertising - They claim to allow clocking in from a mobile device on the Base (free) Plan. There are even screenshots of this on their support page. This is FALSE. Mobile clock-in is not an option on the Base Plan as advertised. Their support team gives you auto-generated replies. The flase advertisement of being able to clock in from a mobile device for free has resulted in wasted time - I would have never downloaded this app had I known this. I will be switching off of this app.
I don't know what kind of update that you guys just did. But now the app logged me out and it's not recognizing my login either via email or phone number. It keeps saying to check my internet connection which I know is not an issue! Please fix the bugs that you just created because I was not having any bug issues with this app until now! This started happening yesterday, 5/27. The only way that I got the app to start working again is by restarting my phone! Woke up today with same issue!
Up until now the app has been relatively good, but one of the recent updates completed screwed up message notifications on Android. I never get notifications for chat messages and have to manually open the app to check. Also I have noticed huge battery drain due to constant wakelocks and the app staying open in the background all the time, and I have to force quit the app to stop it. I have already tried reinstalling the app and the problems persist.
A year ago I loved homebase but now every time I try to log in the app crashes. I followed several "fixes" from uninstalling and reinstalling the app, to clearing app data/cache, restarting my phone... the app simply does not work for me anymore. I can't even log in it crashes and I'm connected to internet/great service and have plenty of storage in my phone so it's on the app.
Automatically set me up for payments to my checking when it has a low balance (I never authorized such), charging me a fee. Their so called "support" was a copy and paste response system, very unhelpful. The platform is very basic and not as user friendly as others are. I would use another system/app for my business!
Do NOT use pay any day or instant pay, and DO NOT open a homebase spending account by any means. Only use this app as a time clock and messaging platform. The terms of their money accounts are unclear until you are already stuck with one and unable to close it until four weeks after you open it (two paydays). You will be trapped in endless loops of drafting between accounts, and longer than normal ACH clearing times (5-7 days). Their solution is to use cashapp instead of their card. Crazy!
It worked great until a recent update. They completely ruined the message center. It is genuinely UNUSABLE. It locks everything in its own tab, and I have to dig and dig and dig. Every damn time, I get a notification. also, half my chats are just missing and can no longer DM, anyone. Good luck getting rid of the notification dot on the app because that's permanent now. Used to just all be in one big list, I didnt have to do 8 extra things just to read a message. wish I could give lower than 1.
Always been a great app for the jobs I've used it with throughout the years, up until recently. Messages don't get sent or receieved on time (ex: sends a message at 10:30am, won't show until 10:35am), and as of now it has logged me out of my account and won't log back in. Met with an error message every time. Managers can't figure it out either.
This app is supposed to have a feature where it would sync to our Google Calendar however often you scheduled it to. Mine was for 24 hours. This feature didn't always work, I usually had to open the app to make it do so manually, but it was a feature I relied on. This issue only got worse, not better, and now it doesn't sync to calendar at all. If I try to disable it and enable, I now cannot even select a Google Calendar for it to sync to.
This app has serious issues with managing account logins and passwords. If you try logging in by phone number, the access code doesn't work. Try resetting your password and the code will again not work. Try logging in with the correct credentials, guess what? DOESN'T WORK. UPDATE (5/28/25): Support resolved my issue so I'll be adding back a few stars.
The countdown that used to show up whenever I would clock out for break is gone with the latest update. I don't know why you would get rid of it, it was super helpful. Now I have to constantly watch the clock to make sure I clock in from break when time is up. I don't use the clock back in reminder in settings because it's never accurate. It always notifies me too late. I hope the countdown timer returns in the next update.
Notification alerts are malfunctioning. I searched the settings and disabled the alerts. I went back into settings and put alerts back on. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the app but the alert notifications don't work properly. This error didn't happen until recently when there was an update 😕 I accepted the update otherwise I couldn't use the app anymore. I contacted the supervisor in charge of the app group and was unable to help. I can't receive upcoming schedules and messages.
The app functions great for scheduling. Easy to learn and intuitive. There are a couple quirks that annoy me. When changing a shift, rarely will a person qualified for the shift be in suggested in the drop down. For instance, changing a manager shift, hosts and dishwashers show up but zero management. This , in the grand scheme is minor, but frustrating nonetheless.
App use to work great untill the recent update. Now when I open the app my messages and chats aren't there half the time so I have to close the app another 2 to 3 times before it works. Also the older chat was easier to read. Swapping the name from top to bottem was an odd choice. Now people at our company get confused occasionally about who sent what message. Yes I am on the latest version of Android and yes the app it updated.
