It's an okay app but it leaves a lot to be desired. I've been using it for a while now and I don't feel that it helps at all. Too many times the prompts have just repeated themselves and I found that I'm going in circles when typing an entry. Especially when you use the deeper prompts. This is just plain annoying. Do yourself a favour and just go to a therapist or something.
Reviews for Honestly: Wellbeing Coaching
← Back to Honestly: Wellbeing CoachingAfter trying the app in the no-cost mode, I opted to purchase an annual subscription. I did this to utilise unlimited recording time for entries, so I had freedom to ramble it all out. I live in quite a complexity of conditions. Having an unbiased private place to verbalise my experiences (differing from real world allied health supports) has been helpful in processing things. The supportive feedback given after entries are like pots of gold.
I originally gave 5 stars, but now I discovered that there's no way to backup or download your entries. If you lose your phone, or the app fails in some way, that's it! All your thoughts, feelings, experiences are gone. Here's what I originally wrote: I've been using this for a week now and I love it. It summarizes my entries well and gives a great picture of where I'm at. The prompt are great and it's really encouraging. I do miss having a pen in my hand though.
1 of the best journals I've ever had. I have used livejournal for decades it has not done for my mental health what Honestly has done in a few short weeks. It has helped lift me from the throws of infidelity, living with an addict and childhood trauma. The custom AI messages it gives after every entry, the summaries it gives every 3 days, the weekly summeries & the challenges are just wonderful. I love the journaling prompts for the boring days when I have nothing to write about. Great job!
I would have kept it if everything didn't require a subscription. This app has potential, and I do understand that sometimes, to get the full potential out of some apps, you have to pay for a subscription, but it isn't something that I can do. I do go to therapy and was hoping that this app could be a way to document and even reveal patterns in my thinking and help me better understand myself so me and my therapist can go over ways to conquer my issues, but I guess not. Was worth a try though.
it was going great for a while. but today it started giving me an error every time I tried to add an entry. I tried a voice memo, I tried typing, same issue either way. if i can't add entries, what's the point? there isn't even a way to save an entry without an internet connection. it just tries and errors over and over.
Honestly: Wellbeing Coaching is amazing!! This is exactly what I've been looking for in a jornaling app and more! I really like the AI feature and its response to my thoughts and feelings that I've expressed. I truly believe this app will help a lot of people. I also enjoy the Journey, Insights, and Challenge features as well as My Progress, Quotes, and Mood Distributions.
I like the app. I like the layout and the ability to edit. I also like how easy it is to use and the look of the journal. I wish it had the feature to save the daily insight feedback like Rosebud, even if you have to buy the version. I also like that Rosebud allows you to easily share your journal entries with a share button. if these were added, it would be the perfect app.
very disappointed that I purchased the year subscription yesterday. day 1 was fun to do the initial "get to know you" questions and journal entry. set up notifications for 9pm and went about my day. at 1009pm I got a notification that said you have 10 minutes to make your entry. I cannot open the app. please help. I'm happy to give a five-star review if this can be resolved
This is a good concept but the voice recordings are timed unless you have premium subscription. I'm not a big fan of that. And my very first insights when I used it when I was having a breakdown was probably the most generic 'Sorry you're going through this. it'll get better' bs. Like wow that's great Thanks for the "insight". Especially since my breakdown was about being broken frustrated and I got cut off mid rant to say 'Oh if you want to continue, try premium! 😃'.
At the very last part in getting started, the next button is right underneath the close app button. No matter where I press it, it won't register that in pressing next. The next button is far too low on the screen to proceed forward, so hitting it directly just closes the app. Therefore I can't even start on the app. Samsung phone, by the way. I won't be able to get through the set up without going in and completely changing my samsung phone settings, just to use this app.
Giving the app a 4 ⭐️ since almost every second time I use it, it says I need to pay premium to unlock the features. I already got the yearly subscription, so each time I gotta restart the app which is kind of annoying. I am on a 35 day streak and app is great. gives reminders to log and the AI function is nice, although I feel it could be better in regards to questions it asks. The journey option is quite fun as well. I wish there were updated challenges, as it is a paid version.
Pros: AI is really intuitive. It really breaks down your entries and offers you feedback immediately and/or after a few days or even a week's time. You can save long voice entries to listen to latest. You can even add pictures to your entries. // Cons: You must be online to save your journal entries. There have been times when I've tried to submit a longer voice entry (10+ minutes) and I would get an error. I would have to redo my entry all over again. Please fix this. I pay for this!
I do like the app. It just sucks that most everything is stuck behind a yearly pay wall. Make it a 1 time payment, heck double the yearly payment for the lifetime payment, and people would still probably pay it if there was a month trial period with everything unlocked so they could see if it helps them.
I have tried different apps to help me understand myself. Help get a handle on my thoughts and emotions. This is the only app that has done that. You can journal when you want to. There are challenges, but this app doesn't push them on you. You go through this at your own pace. No pressure. There are insights into your thoughts and feelings that you share with them that have been spot on so far. I have ADHD and tons of push notifications mess me up. That isn't an issue with this app. 👍🏻
I really liked the app in the beginning with the journey and the challenges. but that stuff doesn't last long. The journey and the challenges need to be ongoing to create more self discovery opportunities. Also the last few days I've been getting errors after recording an entry and having to re record it sometimes twice and that's really annoying.
I am always on the fence with AI anything but im starting to come around. its going to be part of life so why not explore. I like the responses it gives when you journal. it makes me feel good really. kind of reminds of Harry potter and him writing in the journal lol. its cool so far. ill update my review when I have more time to play around. thanks! Update: You do have to pay for this app in order to progress further. you get up to 3 lessons before you get a report and you have to subscribe.
This diary is excellent. The AI helps me think more in depth about my original entry. It keeps track of my moods based on my journal entry. I can easily change my mood if I think it has the wrong mood, but that's only happened twice. The journal also picks out key points of my entry and gives me a summary of my entry. Using AI does require premium, but it's not expensive. You also get some reports about your weekly entries, and they are really useful. That's part of premium. I've used it 3 months
Have app for 2 days. Love it so far. Easy to either record or type journal entries. Not sure if journal entries are downloadable yet. However, to the extent it isn't, developers fix that feature because it would be a major negative for me if I couldn't. I want to be able to download and keep my entries regardless if I continue with Honestly down the line. I have purchased the year subscription and will update my review as time goes on but 5 stars for today for ease of making journal entries.
This app was wonderful at first. For nearly 2 months I was able to use the voice texting and it analyzes moods gave good insights and feedback and encouraged me to keep journaling. Today somehow I got logged out. When I logged in everything was gone EVERY SINGLE ENTRY. I paid for the premium membership too and all my entries, everything is gone. I have to start over and I really dont feel like it. I used this over a paper journal because of the insight and feedback feature. but i lost everything
