Cool when it works, which is rare. It doesn't count all your miles, so don't use it to keep track. It also randomly kicks you out of your account and asks you to sign in again during a run. And the phone app and machines do not communicate well. Also, the trainer suggests workouts that are no longer in the library. It's a subpar app, which is sad. They sell it based off the promise of what it could be, but it feels like using a beta version of an app.
Reviews for iFIT - At Home Fitness Coach
← Back to iFIT - At Home Fitness CoachI love the instructors and workouts; however, recently I have had issues with the App loading and locking up mid workout or at the end, and I either have to force stop or reinstall the app to get it working. Nothing on my end has changed; so, I'm not sure what the issue is. It's frustrating to say the least, especially since I originally gave the app 5 stars.
I love ifit and the trainers. However. This week the app has been super glitchy and it crashed 15 minutes into a 30 minute workout that is part of a series. There is no way for me to fast forward and im on a schedule today. So repeating the beginning is not an option. Its very frustrating that you cannot skip ahead to the portion of the workout that you need. I understand they prevent that so you get the full experience, but then dont have a faulty app that requires it.
1. If a workout gets interrupted you have to start all over, no way to fast forward or resume. 2. Cannot easily see my challenges in the app or treadmill. I want the challenges I join to be first thing I see. 3. Cannot easily view the whole series in a challenge. It took almost 15 mins to figure out what the next workout is supposed to be. Positives: Great trainers with uplifting messages. I like the new AI coach adjustments. It is taking some getting used to but so far is going well.
Recorded workouts are generally good. Majority of the trainers of charismatic and motivating. Production quality is top notch. The app has some issues though. At least for me, the app will disconnect from the machine, the internet, or will just randomly crash during the middle of the workout. When this happens you have to restart the workout video and there is no option to fast-forward so you are forced to sit through the video again or to end your workout early.
Great workouts! Teaches you how to row with great scenery. Various workouts so you can do it all from the comfort of your home. it would be nice if when you selected the type of workout you want to do that those types of videos come up. Searching is difficult and can be frustrating. Searching on the Roku app is very difficult. you have to know the workout your looking for the search by workout does not work well. not sure if a specific roku is needed, but since last update I can't search.
I wish the app on the television was a better experience. it is difficult to navigate and find workouts. I really enjoy the app on my phone and the compatibility to my treadmill. This is really good all around. I do wish some of the workouts were harder. I do the advanced runs, and rarely do they go under a 9 minute mile on the program itself.
Frustration review. I used this app a few years back when I worked at a place that had the Freemotion equipment. Loved it. 5 stars when I am able to use it. Since then, membership options have changed and I signed up with the basic Training level. I discover it does not allow you to sign in on the equipment at this level. Alright...let me upgrade. Unable to. If I don't create a whole new account, I have to wait out the 30 day billing cycle. This is extremely frustrating.
The exercises are great. However even though I am given an option to sync my data with Google Fit, it doesn't actually work. Google blocks the iFit app due to security concerns. Research indicates that is because Google doesn't trust the app and the end user can't do anything about - it has to be fixed by the iFit vendor. I have the latest version available for my Android phone.
Terrible experience. Tried to cancel a membership and there is not any customer service. Called their number during weekend hours since they no longer support email for customer service. No one answered during their supposed weekend support hours. Further, called during the week and still waiting to talk with someone after waiting on the phone for 30 minutes and it will likely be much longer. Basically, no customer service. Only use if you do not plan on canceling in the future.
I have used the app working out on the same path for the last 2 years w/o issues. but since latest update i have problems every time. first 3 weeks constantly got a no internet message. while that has not shown up in the last week, app constantly goes into "buffering" and stops. I even reduced the video quality to lowest setting and get the same results.
I like my pro-form machine but the app is very glitchy and fails to record about every 4th workout. If any other app was compatible with the machine I would delete this one in a second. also as far as I can tell its not possible to put your current weight into calorie calculations without the glitchy app running. it's really too bad because the machine itself is great.
The workouts are fine but what I really dislike are listed feature that aren't true. The website has links on how to setup Google Fit as a connected app but it's no offered in the application when you try. There is also links on how to setup a Google TV app but that seems to be false as well since there is no option to download the application on a Google TV. It feel like false advertisement.
The updated app has issues. The overall timer doesn't sync with the elliptical, throughout the workout it jumps about 2 seconds ahead. At 30 mins it removes the top bar that shows the overall progress, when I tap the screen it says resume and when I hit resume it starts to lower the incline and resistance as if I'm starting over. It does the same if I start my workout before starting the app, unlike the old app. This feels like a downgrade if you've used the old app.
The app is ok. But when I needed to report a problem none of the drop down menus worked. Thn I went to feed back and same problem there. I also submitted an issue through email and they did respond initially but I've updated the issue and no response. Edit. So they emailed me a couple days after this post and asked if I could send some pictures, I had told them they were attached to another ticket. No response for a couple more days, the mschi did it again so I took a picture. Still no response
For whatever reason I cannot connect my NordicTrack Rower to my Android phone via Bluetooth. I reset my phone, turned off/ on Bluetooth connection, uninstalled the ifit app, logged out of the app, and unplugged my equipment from the wall. I have tried everything. I reached out to customer service via chat and I was told nothing useful, so I think I will save my money and figure something else out.
I like that it keeps track of things. However, you must purchase training which really should be for free. After some time, you might get one or two free trainers, but that is it. Also, the app jumps off Bluetooth, and I have to start the app all over again. I lost time in training once or twice because of that.
The iFit platform has always been hard to navigate, and it seems to get worse. I have to search for the series that I am currently working through. I may be working on 1 to 3 series at a time, but they all should be readily available and easy to find. Plus, you got rid of the Johnny Gale exercises. I loved his exercises and positive attitude. If it was not for the fact that you have elliptical equipment, I would be on a different platform. I like the workouts when I can find them.
Buggy terrible app. Workouts frequently don't get saved. I've been using it 4 days a week for 3 months and it says i only have 13 workouts, a pathetic save success rate. Will often crash in the middle of a workout. It's not uncommon for the app to lock up at launch and just show a black screen. It's unfortunate that it's the only app that works with my treadmill.
The update went from poor to terrible. The trainers and workouts are outstanding, but the technology is what earns the poor review. The data you can see from your workouts is limited to total calories burned...that's it! At least before the update you could see average/maximum heart rate. I called customer service and they told me to reinstall the app, which didn't solve the problem. I will keep subscribing because John Peel is amazing but he's the main reason I stay.
