Reviews for iReal Pro: Backing Tracks

Don't normally pay premium for music apps, but am really glad to have made the investment. Great for jazz, but also for pop and rock. You can search online via forums, but once you've imported to your device you don't need to be online to view your chord charts. I'm still exploring the potential for sharing between devices - if you want to use it on multiple platforms (eg Android and PC) it's worth reading up about the best avenue to buy and install before you buy.

As a professional guitar and double bass player this has been my and my colleagues' go to app for many years. Make playlists, transpose them, share them with your combo or the substitute who will be filling in, and just start playing! Writing a new sheet is not the most intuitive thing in the world, it's kinda finicky and takes some time to get used to but it works. To the 1-star reviewers: don't buy this expecting guitar tabs. If you don't know how to read chord sheets this is not (yet) for you

This app is good but the new double time feature is backwards. The half time button plays double time and vice versa.

Works well. I have a problem. There is not countdown for pick up notes before the bar. pls look into..

the best app that is really did a progrss in my process of learning guitar. with the lack of a band that I can practice with, this app developed my skills of listening and keeping the rythme ąs I play with the drum and other instruments. i highly recommend it.

amazing app great for musicians. everyone on the gig uses them. you can send people your setlist in your keys and even write your own compositions in there. The only reason I am not giving it 5☆ is because you can't log in and save any playlists. if you lose your phone, you lose all playlists and have to download them all again.

Need quick fix. Latest version got bug. If i want to insert text in edit mode, i cannot scroll up. I can only see the bottom part of the page. Helpp UPDATE: IReal Pro team fixed my issue!! Great job guys. i love this app sooooo much!! 5 star!!

mannn, before this last update it was five stars but yall messed it up. glitches galore. half the time when I press start on the backing track it has 2 backing tracks start at different times and it just sounds like slop. please fix it

I had iReal Pro in my old Xiaomi smartphone.. destroyed and I couldn't find my purchase Data to reinstall App in my new (also Xiaomi) phone. Thanks to Warren help (iReal Pro tech support) my problem was solved with precise instructions in no time ! Thanks again.. and best regards to all iReal Pro users around the globe from beautiful Greece !

It's hilarious that on the description it says "realistic sounding" band. It's just atrocious 90s MIDI synth, especially the guitars. However, it's a great practice tool, especially for tricky chord progressions. Recommended.

I liked it for a while but if you want to correct charts in here it's real klutzy. for some reason it always unpairs my earbuds. No other app does that. Not YouTube or anything like that. Just this one. speaking of YouTube, that's the app I've been going to instead of this one lately. less buggy.

Latest update completely destroyed the usability if the app. It has drag and drop enabled by default (no way to disable it). So if you accidentally rest your finger for a second on a playlist or a song it gets stuck and moves them. Now instead of sliding my playlists downwards to go to the next songs it just moves the songs. Playlists are useless and frustrating now. Please fix it! I broke my rule of never updating programs and I regret it!

Wonderful app for having a backing track. There are hundreds (or more?) of standards and others that you can improvise with- they'll play in any key, at any tempo, wlith a great sounding combo in as background (great sounding with decent amplifier/speaker). You can put difficult sections in indefinite loop. The chords you see can be set it for your particular instrument. You can write the chords for your own tune or peculiar chord practice needs. Thoroughly worth it!

Sometimes, I am shocked by the songs that are available in the forums, but way more often, I am disheartened by the absence of VERY popular songs. It doesn't help that the self-appointed moderators of the forums are constantly policing people for adding more songs. Maybe if they weren't so critical, I wouldn't have to make so many charts all the time.

Took a while for me to fully appreciate this app, but this a great tool for a student of jazz. You can get an accurate chart of any jazz standard, transpose to any key, export a pdf of your chart--you get a back track, change the tempo. I think I have access to 1200 songs. Try that with a fake book! And good customer service as well. Must have for any jazz student.

This is app really helps in reducing the amount of paper music I need to take on a gig sometimes. BUT, take the time to plan a set and make sure the changes to the tunes are correct. lt has its limitations of course, not being able to mark rhythmic accents being one of them. But I find it extremely useful in displaying charts on my 12" tablet when the bass player and I have to read the same chords in an unfamiliar key for a singer. Manage expectations, learn the tool, and it will be v helpful.

I love this app. I used it to enter chords from the Rikky Rooksby songwriting book and got addicted. So I can go through the exercises in the book without my computer. It's my fav chord progression making software. I wish I could audition chords before writing them. Also more playing styles and instruments please!!!! However it does what I needed it to do. Really really enjoying it, but it is slightly flawed.

This app is an indispensable part of every practice session. The portable, easy access to 1000+ jazz standards alone is worth the price. But these guys also included a little fake band to back you while you practice the songs. 🤘 You can edit the band by choosing instruments, turning them off and on, and mixing their volumes. You clean easily change the tempo of each song, the key of each song, and the basic groove of each song. Night mode is perfect. Highly recommended.

GREAT to have access to such a huge library of user-created arrangements! Searching for songs can be hit-or-miss, and I find it too complex to input my own songs, but I don't read music and don't know how to chart, so maybe that's normal. One-time price reasonable. There's no way to input melody, but that's due to copyright infringement laws. WONDERFUL for new musicians learning uke, guitar or piano because you can view chord diagrams and see where your fingers go!

I LOVE this program! Not only can you find thousands of charts to jazz, blues and rock tunes (even share the charts over many different methods), but the practice/play along function is invaluable. Before I purchased this program (at such a reasonable rate!), I was constantly trying to find backing tracks for practicing both vocals and piano. But often, those free tracks were in the wrong key. And the paid tracks add up fast! With IRealPro, you can change the tempo (slower when you're learning), set it to loop as many times as you want, create your own charts, modify charts, change the key (a must for my low voice), and even try the song with different rhythms. I don't know what we did without it. I have bought copies for other band members too. Just DO it!
